Holy crap, Crysis & Crysis 2 on PC pwns these water effects.

This is more comparable with Oblivion with Graphics mod from 2006.

Water effects of uncharted is good, its good but the game that has the best water effects is crysis, play the game

@W00CKEY Yes that also has awesome water effects. What sucks about this video is it doesn't have drake swimming in the water cuz that is really when the water effects shine. Anyway, it would be really interesting to compare those 2 gaming engines in a video...

It's funny , people don't notice The water in uncharted 1 and 2. The water is pretty, they had to sacrifice geometry for pretty looking water. Which is why Uncharted 1 and 2 water looks good but does not perform like gears of war 2 or f.e.a.r water physics. Uncharted 2 water physics seemed non existent, the waves of water didn't interact or should I say collide. there was no buoyancy , overall just a shader effect on the top layer.

@layzie45 I appreciate your opinion - i have to say gears of war is pretty impressive in their water. however their are some times in uncharted when the water is WOAH quality. Considering that Uncharted 2 is awesome not just in the water but the graphics (SPU's, i LOVE you). Its the way the water reflects the surfaces, effects the characters (even though its a calculated), and moves (in shamballa when its raining) that proves to me that Uncharted 2 is just as awesome as gears of war 2

@d1jal I can agree with you on Uncharted 2 having really good physics, But You have to remember , When water has actual water physics in a game, the water is never going to look as good as water that has none. just think of crysis water. It has nice looking water but no actual water physics. There is no water physics present in uncharted 2 , But I have to agree with you on how pretty the water looks in uncharted 2.

uncharted 2 water is static you know that right? looks real , but it's not better than fears dynamic water or gears of war dynamic water.

Not really, it's very static. It may look good, but shooting it, swimming in it, riding the jet ski in it, all the effects when you interact with the water look really ugly and unrealistic. Uncharted is one of my favourite games this gen, but even I can admit a fault when I see one. The first one may have had really good graphics, but the whole environment was barely interactive and very static (something I think the second will fix).
