Great days, I still got the boating blazer and the tonic suit packed away, there was a shop in Bristol that sold retro stuff. Some of it was really good quality but had a mothball smell like it was old stock they'd found or something, there was a lot of twotone tat there as well but I went down there with my redundancy payoff and holiday money after getting laid off and left the place loaded with nice crisp threads. Blew the lot over the one weekend but it was one hell of a weekend!

Plenty of nasty sieg heilers on this scene in London sadly - glory boys / ICF - violence at gigs too - apart from Jam, chords, lambrettas and Irish band Blades, most of music was dire and deservedly didn't last but fashion was great and

it was a good midwife for two tone which showed how you can take influences and make something new. Quadrophenia album soundtrack to my teens

17 years old in 1980, in Thatchers Britain, but I would put up with Thatcher to live those days again, Scooter runs, Ski pants, fishtail parkas we had a ball.

The footage is from Ireland, the Mod scene was GIGANTIC in the '70's and '80's ahm glad to have been part of it, from John O'Groats to Lands End Ireland and Wales we are the Mods!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Keg, I mostly stumble across the video footage, then the work begins, I know the Scene Club video you are talking about, I remember seeing it I believe there is someone who has the video living in Govan who has it, will need to chase that one up at some point I remember it being filmed down the Band Stand,so I might be in there I don't know but that would be brilliant to see.
