Anyone here know how to rebuild the carb on the 87 model? Mine is a CA vehicle and it failed smog, they said it failed due to running to rich. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I Have One! :D The 1995 Mitsubishi L200 Inline 4 2.5 TurboDiesel one. :) 5 speed bro! Tough as hell and only problem when it didn't start was a fuel filter which I haven't changed SINCE I BOUGHT IT. :D Love my truck.
I've go an 85 Mini Max. Has the turbo diesel in it 4x4 and its a sweet little truck... looks like the first truck they show, the red one... plan on sinking alot more money into it, goal is to make it look like the second black truck.
Man i love this truck, im 21 and my first car is my pride and joy. the black and chrome grilled 86' d50 sport 2.6. its also got the dealer option Chrome wheels like the silver d50 in the commercial. Ive put a new 34/34 solex weber carb, tires, radiator, and its a huge improvement. this lil truck and 164xxx miles. i plan on restoring these classic trucks. I call my d50 RAMMY RICE BURNER.
I've 2 of these. 1985 dodge d50 and 1986 mighty max. Both have over 200,000 miles . I don't think detroit could ever make anything so reliable and cheap. GO Mitsubishi!
I agree 100% f90bird. The early Chevy Luv pickup was a Isuzu, the early ford Ranger is and still to this day a Mazda. the Plymouth arrow 79-81, D50 and th ram50 are all mitsubishi. You what else is funny during that era, Lee Iaccoca was doing TV commercial ads "Buy American" LOL.
You are right about all that except, The Ford Ranger Compact has always been a Ford built truck, Mazda in 1994 stopped building it's own B-series for re-badged and re-styled Rangers, The Rangers predecessor the Courier was a Mazda built truck until 1980-81
Neat commercial to see, I have a 1985 Mitsubishi Mighty Max, the same as a Dodge Ram 50. Great little truck. I too always wondered why Dodge couldn't make their own mini-truck at that time. Even some Chevy cars of the 80's and 90's were built by Toyota and Suzuki, they just rebadged them for the American market.

My mom has an 86 as well, 4 wheel drive. It's seen better days, though. Been through everything, but it still runs.
