  • Thank you so much for this great info! I've played my King Zephyr for years, and my Buescher Aristocrat, but neither of them sound as lovely as the vintage Beaugnier Kenosha Vito that I just picked up. I haven't been able to put it down for the past 2 weeks. It just feels really special in my hands, very lush low end and the overall sound is so textured I'm blown away by it... Thank you so much Ted!

  • The horn doesn't have to be stamped "Made in France" to be a French Vito. The 1960s Kenosha, WI Vitos were essentially made in France as the horn bodies and parts were made in Paris and shipped to the US for assembly. This is no different from the vaunted Selmer Mark VIs, most of which were made in France and shipped to Elkhart, IN for assembly and engraving in the U.S. In fact, come to think of it, Selmer Mark VI's are not stamped "Made in France" either.

  • It depends. It sounds like it may be a Yanagisawa Bari . Look all over it and see if their is a y in the serial number or on the neck and if it is marked made in Japan . You can send me pictures and I can most likely tell you. Lacquer condition and what the table looks like will all affect the value .Shoot me your email address,I will respond with mine and I will let you know from your pics. Ebay has really screwed used horn prices.

  • I have a Vito Bari made in france that has "Jazz Special" stamped on it. model 19108. I would assume that beaugnier made it but can't find any info on the "Jazz Special" I want to sell it but don't know what its worth. Any info would be great. tommybattommyburnevikbluesdotcom

  • Thanks for the great info.

I have recently acquired a Noblet/Beaugnier tenor, and cant put it down. Best investment I ever made $AUS$900. It is so much fun to play & the key action is fantastic (gold springs).

Using a Meyer Hard rubber No 6 which works very well with it. Would love to know the year model, but seems to be impossible to tell.

  • Great information! You're an amusing fellow. Thanks for posting this. There isn't much out there on Beaugnier saxes. I just bought a Noblet/Beaugnier tenor and looking forward to playing it.

  • 4 * for tipz!

    Thanks!
