Even though many of my female co-workers come off as pretty cool, you just can't tell who will decided to "change their mind" turn an innocent joke/comment into a sexual harassment case. I hope everything works out for you. And yeah, defamation of character is a real charge you can level against her. It can take two forms: slander or libel. Depending on the circumstances of her statements, it could be either or, or both. You can get damages too, though they will be small, if only your reputation was damaged. You might be able to claim damages for your lost wages, though, depending on many other factors.

heads up, another thing you need to be prepared for his HR is feminist land, even though when I had my situation it was verified that not only had I don nothing but the women who turned me in, had been inapropriate. HR did nohting. What they did was close the case and in even in doing that changed my staments I had made leaving out everthing they had found out she had done. The main HR chick that I worked with was a feminist scum bag her self , and my male manager only cared about his own ass.
