Best of luck to Medvedev in his new role of President of the Russian Federation. I don't see any reason to not give him the benefit of the doubt. Putin transferring power, even as he becomes Prime Minister, is a victory for the democratic process. His staying on is reassuring for most Russians, and helps make the transfer a stable event.
