When Mom saw JAWS at the theater, it scared her so much that she wouldn't go in the ocean for TWO weeks. The things that scared her: the shark, music, and the death scenes (especially Quint). Overall, Mom thought that this was well made but TOO SCARY for her.

I was learning to scuba down in California, and for my final dive with my instructor we were on the ocean bottom, when we see this huge (you. have. no. idea.) shadow go overhead.

I freely admit I shit my wetsuit, because that's all I had, and not a shark cage within miles. Haven't been able to watch this movie since then.

I had the original LP, and then years later the 2000 anniversery speciel edition music recorded for the film. I was looking all over for this version. And not th rerecorded version, i'm talking about THIS version here from the original soundtrack LP. I was looking for it on an MP3, but all i keep getting are newly recorded versions and not this one. can you tell me where i could find this version on MP3?

So perfectly fits the theme of the movie. The shark is kind of a silent killer, and its actually kind of scary to thjink of the shark as a mindless eating machine. I mean, its actually incredibly frightenining to try and imagine whats going on in the mind of a killer shark. Simply one of the greatest, if not THE greatest film score ever written.

@littlefurrydude Of course, that was before PG-13 was invented. If it had come out ten years later, it would probably have been PG-13. Funnily enough, PG-13 was invented for Indiana Jones 2, another Spielberg movie.

John Williams is a genius. I remember watching the anniversary edition of Jaws, the part where Williams explains how he thought of the Jaws motif and presented it to Spielberg, and what was Spielberg's reaction upon listening to it!
