  • Penny Pingleton is Positively Permanantly Punished

  • The first hairspray is better than the second some of the second one's songs are suckish

  • Gravy (For My Mashed Potatoes)" ... Dee Dee Sharp's followup hit to "Mashed Potato Time" in 1962 ... love it!! Read somewhere that she passed on "Locomotion" in order to record "Gravy" so "Locomotion" ended up being recorded by Little Eva who was Carole King's babysitter, but I don't know if that's a true story. (Carole King co-wrote "Locomotion.")

  • the Older Hairspray was better than the new one when it came to the music and dancing

  • The single version of this song has so much more vitality and energy to it than the album version. I'm hoping that a CD with the single version might come out before too much longer...

  • C Am F G or 1 6m 4 5

  • Yeah... it seems like SO many songs from this era used that same simple chord progression. I'm not sure how anyone could get mad about it.

I love Dee Dee Sharp's music, too!

  • How about a little gravy on your mashed patatoes.

  • sounds nothing like Mr. Postman.

  • sounds similiar to mr.postman

  • "Mash Potato" by Dee Dee sounds like "Mr. Postman." The same chords were used and there was a law suit over the song. Motown was not happy with Cameo Records.
