  • love the music... i wanna know some cds of that music to enjoy in my car... omg

  • 本当にいい時代だった

    今の日本は何も作れない

  • Judging from the hp figure stated, it could not even matched another V12 engine from another Japanese F1 engine manufacturer, Yamaha (let alone Honda V12)which produced 700 plus hp (compared to the 650 plus hp that the HKS engine produced). In 1991, it could still potentially running as midfield performer had it found a suitable team that wanted to purchase the engine. But it wasn't to be. Certainly, a very interesting 'what if' scenario..

  • Sound like music in sega gt2002 or porn music. Lmao.

  • I really like this cheesy music! XD

Does anyone know who the driver was?

  • The sound of this V12 engine is amazing. Too bad theyv'e put music in the background. What's worse is that the music fucking sucks too. The sound of the V12 by itself would much more beautiful than the music!

  • agreed!!! lol...the V12 is the greatest sound ever...to bad it was not as functional as the V10.. : (

  • @craigio1806

Welcome to the horrible world of music from the early 1990s.

  • After the end of the 1992 F1 year, Honda dissapeared from the McLaren team after losing it to Williams-Renault in Hungary

After the end of the 1995 Season of F1, the V12 supremacy went to extinction since Ferrari was the last team to use the V12

  • What an amazing sounding V12 engine, shame it never got to race in F1. F1 engine from '89-'94 sounded incredible, especially V12's.

  • I want that car! Can you imagine a V12 in an F3000 car! I love hearing the engine rev up and down in the turns with the driver having to rev on downshifts with the fully manual gearbox. Maybe open wheel should go back to the pure days of racing and rely on drivers over design.

  • HKS could have tried marketed for other usage, e.g Sports Prototype cars or even GT cars, maybe to Japanese constructors.

  • Indeed they did. Badged as a Mitsubishi, there was an attempt to put it in the back of the Lola T92/10 and race in IMSA GTP in 1993 but the funding all fell through.

  • Isuzu also had such an engine in the early 90's for F1. Many thought this engine would end up in a Lotus of the time (as these companies were almost the same back then) but alas it never happened.

    &

Subaru also had a flat 12 motor in a Coloni F1 car that did not make a race.

Interesting stuff, thanks for posting this Vid up for all to see.

  • I wonder why it was never raced?

It was outscored by Lambo V12 in F1 (in Lola team) or what?

  • none of the f1 teams decided to purchase it and hks decided not to put any more money into it...its a real shame though...such a beutiful motor

  • Sorry, FOCA regulations didn't permit the use of it, since it was found functioning above the maximum parametres embedded in the regulations

  • xpidf1, what parametres do you mean? 0_o Displacement?

  • dunno, but it might the cause of the FOCA or HKS itself

  • Thats a nice sleek car.
