This has got to be ONE of the BEST SCENES in CINEMATIC HISTORY! It's a big PIVOTAL point in the film, perhaps best described as the scene in which TRAVIS BICKLE "SNAPS!!!" Watch this scene once a day for three weeks, and see how much it SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTS YOUR ATTITUDE!!! I actually tried doing this, and it resulted in a pay increase at my job!!! @NiXPredator I remember they come often in Ian Fleming's novels. In Casino Royale, one of Le Chiffre's men has a cane gun on Bond's back durring the Bakarat Match. Also, Scaramanga in THe Man With The Golden Gun is known to use this method with the .45s in his golden S.S.A.
@skantiloak Are you sure about that, I don't think that a small indent like that would split a bullet. I always thought he was just doing it to personalise them, as what he was trying to do was so important to him he wanted to perfect every detail even down to the design on the bullets he used.
@stonecoldsnoopy Dude it's one of the greatest films of all time, and i think if at the end he went around killing every pimp, rapist, murderer etc the movie would have been shit.
It was after seeing this movie I decided to kill people.

breaks into four pieces upon impact. That produces considerably more damage as it
doesn't tear a clean hole anymore but rather rips the target to pieces. A while ago they
made bullets like that serially for hunters and even for military purposes as far as I remember.
Those bullets known as "Dum-Dum-Rounds" were banned on grounds of cruelty.
