Supercross is Taiwan stuff. most of what is ridden today is taiwan. you have to look hard to find american parts, but when you do, that doesnt happen.
@MetricHotrodsdotcom That is not a question of Taiwan vs.USA (or other country), it's a question of mechanics of material and engineering. When engineers design a part (frame, fork, etc) they need to trade-off between resistance and weight, so they use some "worst case scenarios" to engineer the parts, the problem is that sometimes the "worst case scenarios" are not the worst..
Ah, I get it, it wasn't so much a warranty claim as a "please give us another frame as we are one of your supported riders". I got the context wrong. Thanks for clearing that up.
I guess that with BMX not being a massive sport like it used to be, that it hurts the manufacturers to give free stuff away - at least it hurts more than it used to in the 80s. (call me old)
We would expect it as they were our sponsor. Even though we think in a case like this ANY frame would have probably snapped. However as a sponsor to not step up to cover your rider who endorses your product is bad business. We have broke a set of carbon sinz before and not only did they cover the pair we broke, they sent a second pair for the problem. (That's customer service and standing behind your product) That's why we run their stuff now...
F4130, no offense meant, but I don't understand why you'd expect Supercross to replace the frame after such an impact. It wasn't a "failure" on their products part, it was accident damage caused by coming up short.
Warranties are there to cover customers if there is faulty workmanship or materials (or both).
We also don't know the history of that frame you were riding, it could have had several close calls before this, weakening it further - before finally giving up in this crash.
O.K. time to come clean. The frame & forks are SUPERCROSS, they were a sponsor in 2009, After sending this video to SX they replied and made NO effort to stand behind their product. No offer to replace either their frame or fork. As a result we will no linger be running any SuperCross equipment...
@f4130 THANK YOUSIRR FOLKES DONT BUY SUPERCROSS PROUCTS THEY FLEX TO WAY TO MUCH... And obviousley they snap easy. Im not sayin that wasnt gnarly.but they shouldnt have snapped
I'm glad you didn't get injured. You are a great example of a competitor. Hope to see you at the Supers. That kid laughing cracks me up. That was the race of the weekend:)
