does anyone know how to induce the spin at 2:30, rudder left , elevator down and full power? looks like he is applying left airleron too... Does anyone know how that spin is called...
@WhiskeySierra It's called a Lomcevak. Type it into youtube and there are a good few videos explaining how it's done. I've witnessed Peter Besenyei doing them close to the ground. Heart stopping!
@WhiskeySierra That is called the outside tumble. Due to the camera angle of the shot it looks more impressive than if flown parallel to an audience. Best way for this is left rudder, and full left alerion and down elevator, thus the stick is 45 degrees forward and to the left.
@ciorompinelsniperoni that's an expertly executed side slip. Followed by a slip-turn so extreme, i would have never believed it was possible had i not seen this video!
"Use the force Luke." No I mean seriously. These pilots really know how to use the four forces and axis's to there advantage. BRAVO!! Best recorded airshow I have seen.
what do they call it when the airplane does a backside 540 rodeo? Don't make fun of me if I use the wrong words sometimes I use snowboard words for airplanes.
@girrocks12345 i call the aierlons the edges, the rudder pedals the bindings, the fusulage is the base, the wing box is the waist, and a slip landing is a powerslide.
It is not an old russian plane, but acrobatic plane made in company SUKHOI...specialy designed and made from light carbon materials and special materials.
it is designed and made for acrobatics you wanker !
The Sukhoi SU-31 is the most agile and powerful aerobatic aircraft in production today. This single-seat aircraft has the highest power-to-weight ratio of any piston engine aircraft, giving the SU-31 truly unbelievable sustained vertical line. Although the Su-31 is physically similar to the SU-26, it is actually really quite different.
The main difference being that the entire fuselage, is everything behind the cockpit, is composite rather than tubular steel. This reduces the weight by some 30 kg's, which is very significant in an aircraft of this sort.
Does anybody know the song that starts around 4:30, it is so beautiful, it moves with the images of the plane so great. If anyone could tell me that would be wonderful~*
It was the Twin Ring Motegi aerobatics championships, in 2002. At that time, Peter was flying the Extra 300S, the red one, that belongs to a famous german pilot whom I don't remember the name.
Peter owned his own aircraft, an Ex330 L (Ex300L with IO580 instead of IO540) with the Red Bull paint scheme.
in the beginning there are a few maneuvers that looks like a "crab" cross wind landing, with the nose heading different to direction travel. May i ask how do they do that?
@david95534224 that's a sustained side-slip. rudder is held in the direction where the nose is pointing, but ailerons are applied in the opposite direction so as to keep the wings level...thereby forcing the aircraft to 'skid' sideways.
i think its a vertical snap roll but with a crazy amount of rudder.... when it stalls it goes into a hammer head wile still in the snap role. i agree thats fuckin awsome i never saw that b4
I know it as Wayne Handley's "Dink". It is a tumble driven largely by p-factor and gyroscopic effects of the prop. It is difficult to perform well, but an over simplification of the steps is to setup at a speed and power setting similar to that which you would use for a snap roll, apply full left rudder followed by forward stick and some left aileron.
holy crap XD
