i didnt understand how inferiror portions of the lateral ventricles r shown below the 3rd ventricle..how the inferior horn can be visible in that section???? .....plz some1 do explain me :(
You presented this stuff in a comprehensive and clear manner, its been helping me a lot.
I really appreciate your videos, due to my exams tomorrow;)
Regards from switzerland
Ps: is it possible that the thalamus isnt a part of the basal ganglia? I thought it would consist of ncl caudatus, putamen, crps pallidus, ncl subthalamicus and substancia nigra.
I am a medical student from saudia arabia , and I am very hoppy to see these serial of lectures { it is very helpful for neurophysiology and anatomy understanding }
i dont like this.. it might be better if you physically were showing the substances.. but it seems like your reaching when you explain "gray" matter.. gray matter is just cell bodies with teh white being the axons. it was termed because of its color. simple and easy. i think your trying to take something wonderful and exciting and turn it into an anatomy lesson where you don't understand it.. it's probably best not to post videos to help u get it yourself because watching it confuse the ideas.
Thank you so very much for your awesome post.....sending to you conscious appreciation for your time and energy....finally having visual and auditory explanation has made it across the corpus collosum to the cortex back into the Hippocampus now making its way to the Parahippacampus....
Hi this is a great video. I wanted to tell you something important. Better put a bibliography at the end of the video for that book or cut it out because crazy people go around with nothing better to do than interrupt people from doing good things with their stupid rules. So I'm just saying. I'm worried.
ur amazing..thanku thankuuu thankyuuuu.. i actually have stopped hating neuro coz of u! =)) u make everything soo clear in ur vids..luv emmm!! ur absolutly fab mate.. =))
The following are part of the physiologica (not anatomical) basal ganglia.. just so everybody is clear: pallidum, striatum, thalamus, subthalamic nucleus, and substantia nigra. Anatomically thalamus is not part of it.
jcy141104 shut the fuck up! if you need reminding we are not in a classroom, we're on youtube and this guy has helped me with so much, if you've got better then post it and let the 10,000 people that have watched this one decide!
the caudate and putamen are collectively known as striatum which receives most input to basal ganglia. meanwhile, globus pallidus is the main output from basal ganglia.
oh..tats fine dude.....bt this s a question n a Post graduate entrance examination..where the q. was like.....which of the following s not a part of basal ganglia..and the options had subthalamic nuclei and thalamus and others.....and of course the right answer was thalamus....tats why i thought of mentioning it dude......newaz thank u......waiting 4 ur other videos....wen have u planned 2 upload them?????
hi hyperhighs,...u videos are really awesome...just continue dude.waiting for more videos....wat abt the anatomy of abdomen and stuff???? then.....more physiology videos......plz dude...waiting for them....
I have to say that Neuroanatomy is one of my most dreaded courses at the moment. Your amazing diagrams and good explainations have definately made this A LOT easier on me! Great work!
this, like all the other videos in this series, is a brilliant help. Really well explained espec. all the helpful asides about the angle of the cut, the shapes of the nuclei and the resultant appearance in sections.
8 people have failed on this subjects & they are mad; oh well, they need more time learn.

I'm pretty sure this guy drew those pictures, in which case he would not need to add references.

My mistake. I apologize for that. Thalamus is "not" part of basal ganglia. Thank you for your correction.
hyperhighs 3 years ago
Thalamus is not a part of basal ganglia!!! That's big mistake.
You should read something about direct pathway (disinhibition) and indirect pathway to see how are they conected.
