But...one of the most common and misleading economic myths in the United States is the idea that the free market is “natural” – that it exists in some natural world, separate from government. Capitalism Requires Government. Maybe Obama should have let the banks go under...who knows. I just know his actions of bailout were Socialist.

@CRod8545 : The bailout was socialist in the way that taxpayer funded roads or a national army is socialist. That is, they're only socialist if you're a fundamentalist capitalist that believes that everything under the sun, should be taken care of by the private market. And that's the point I was elaborating. Government has a role to play in economics, so there is no such thing as a pure capitalist economy, just like there's no such thing as a pure socialist economy. Ever.

@OmarAlQaseer...And congratulations to you too for being part of the 53%. I made the comment in reference to the "hippies" protesting for the now 13 proposed demands. The majority of these demands are unrealistic...We are in reality, not the Amazing World of Gumball. The majority of these young protesters are a generation raised in thinking EVERYTHING should be equal. There is a grey area here. If you understand who the 53% of the 99%, if you will, are...then you know where I stand.

@CRod8545 : I don't think any of these protesters, including a socialist like myself, believes that everything should be equal. There is poverty in Norway, and there are very well off people in Norway, but at least there is a bit more equality of opportunity there than there is here. People understand that you cannot guarantee equality of outcomes in any society, but people are railing against the 1% because they feel, justifiably, that democracy is being bought by an economic elite.

I live in America where we are Capitalists. And if you feel that Norway is better...maybe YOU should go move there. These people have their right to protest...but it will most likey get them nowhere. @CRod8545 No, we're not all capitalists. A capitalist is someone who owns a factory or employs massive amounts of people. Don't tell me what I am, and don't tell me where to move. And which of the protesters are saying they want to be the 1%? I think they'd find that insulting if you accused them of that. I know you wanted to end the debate, but I'm sure it's only because you're out of steam and you wanted to get the last word.

@CRod8545 : About Norway, I was elaborating the point that even with all of their programs to encourage less economic disparity, there is the understanding that income inequality cannot be eradicated. Everyone understands this unless they live in North Korea, so lets not do this patronizing game as if we were 10th graders in a global studies class. And I think it's pointless to play this "If you don't like it here, get out". No. I'm American too but I know there's room for improvement.
