While I was doing radio in college 2 years ago, this was the first song that I put on the air at WNCW at Isothermal in Forest City, NC. I thought it was one of their best songs. After seeing this video, it is pretty twisted, but creative. I am kind of glad that they never really sold out. Their music seems pretty cool.
There is a spiritual war happening now. Which side are you on? Are you on the side that preaches one path for all? Or are you on the side of different paths for all? Do not be mislead when looking at non duality. Once your mind is non dual you only have to look within to find truth. I love you ALL, I hope the transformation to the higher self is a smooth one.
These comments are entertaining... 'tf' was always good for a laugh in Stahora's class poking sarcasm at all the cast of characters, including myself at many points. The true antagonist in ever sense of the word getting some sort of revenge on society leaving all of you to question 'what does it all mean?' How ironic that the one no one knew possessed such deep distaste of their surroundings back then would go on to receive a sea of praise for doing something most people don't even get.
@letitrain51 Haa one of those things that ruins the high? It's an awesome song to listen to while high, though... just close your eyes! Today alone I listened to it 3 times on my iPod. Totally creepy video... but loooove the song

why do a lot of people try to analyze music/music videos/artists on Youtube? unless we have a doctorate's degree in literature/art, i don't think we should in my opinion, of course, & i'm sure most of us don't. i will admit, i've treid to analyze some songs & have come to the conclusion that i have no personal relationship with the artist & dont know what they were experiencing when they were writing their music. As they receive the weapons, they start to mutilate his body. After the first blow he feels lust and pain. He senses that someone must care for him enough to be murdered. In his warped mind he sits there being recorded by his own video camera he set up. His death is followed by the girls vomiting joy. When they stop chopping his body up, they show his last face before he died. It was the face of happiness.
3 girls spiritually influenced are interested in apparitions.
As well as murder. A man who is depressed has finally made a die to die for.
Talking to the girls he arranges his death to be recorded by his video camera.
The girls then exit the cemetery to head to the house where the murder will be arranged. As the victim spruces up he arranges everything just right. As the girls arrive at the house, they enter the house going to the basement. There he gives them weapons.
at first i thought the irls were cute but then they get out ouija and then those creepy girls next thin you know there murderers so people dont EVER play that game thing.
Is that a Ouija board they're playing with in the graveyard? So this is why my mother never wanted me to play that game when I was five... Obviously, if I did, I'd you around ripping strange men's limbs off and spitting up paint. o_0
this band does not want their music to wind up on a car commercial, EVER. so they make sick twisted videos to scare off the corporate leeches. tobacco KNOWS his music is the best, he worries about these things.
@supergwats you're a retard, companies pay musicies when they use there works in commercials and it's not a random donation they have to consent to other people using it. I mean seriously are you that stupid
@supergwats How would this end on a car commercial if tobacco didn't want it there. Wait...it all makes sense. This couldn't at all be an artistic representation this is actually an addition to a played out 9/11 conspiracy. Trudicated the conspiracy has something to do with George Bush being a free mason and his mothers delicious recipe for fudge. Come on man that shits played out.
@supergwats are you kidding? This is perfect music to sell cars/ mutual funds/ erectile dysfunction medicines. This is sunshiney pop music to its core, dressed up in 60s nostalgia. Baby boomers love this. Look for it in an advertisement in 2 -5 years.
@supergwats I don't think that really matters. I mean, "Lust for Life" is a song about being a heroin addict, and it's now used to sell family fun cruises. Honestly, the best way to keep your music out of car commercials is never to sell the rights.
@supergwats I love this band to no end but most videos are made by fans and are unofficial. They also used BMSR in a computer commercial a few months for intel or something.
That may be true, but Cerebral Ballzy just scored air time on adult swim with a video that uses some ridiculously similar aspects of this video, and it worked for them. that angers me. BMSR is greatness and I hate to see originality get leeched without credit applied to where it's due.

I've heard this in a commercial or something. Can anyone clarify if this song or something similar to this played in some advertisement or TV commercial.
The whole song in general is very similar, the repetition of the riff and the way it builds up, which is literally the spine of the song, the production, the vocals, intruments used and genre however are different, but maybes you can't see past that, which is understandable, but from a technical point of view it's almost identical, the drum beat at the start of this song also features on death of a disco dancer, anyone else get what I mean?
Yeah I now realise it probably is coincidental. It's just when I first heard this song it was played on NME radio and they had Johnny Marr in the studio being interviewed, I thought they had played it on purpose in relation to him to maybes show his influence on modern music. I've heard death of disco dancer loads of times, just was really strange then hearing this. I really thought they may have used the idea as a basis with it being structurally very similar.
seriously, if you've heard Death Of Disco dancer as much as I have then hearing this draws up a lot of similarities. The big sound as it's builds up and the way it ends is very similar, the riff is practically the same but it's be in a different key, obviously sounds nothing like it vocally but it does in many other ways, compare them properly and you'll see.
But I find it funny that people are commenting this video saying BMSR is about LSD. It's funny, because it's Tobacco's account, and people are trying to tell him what his own band is about, when he clearly said it has nothing to do with it.
Can't believe how much this sounds like Death Of A Disco Dancer By The Smiths, Im guessing it's a direct tribute or sample arrangement, it's too similar, really good song as well :D
I don't get this music video, but i love this band a lot! Totally relaxing, unique, and talented. AND JUST TO CLEAR EVERYONE UP! They aren't into drugs, don't believe me? Look up "black moth super rainbow interview", the video should pop up first.
They are into drugs, actually. Tobacco just is a very passionate, detailed composer, as any musician should be. If drugs were the only thing that an individual needed to create good music, then a lot more good music would be out there than there is today.
dude honestly he starts talking about a fucking turkey sandwich hes obviously joking haha i actually thought it was funny thats exactly what he wants you to believe. haha
Dang, you people are serious!! Don't getcho panties in a knot, it's only ROCK N ROLL! I love this band and I love this video. I see it as a statement on the absurdity of the fascination of cumming in a girl's mouth.
however...there's nothing really wrong with enjoying psychedelics...
not every person who does drugs is a "drug addled retard", or "shroomhead" as you so eloquently put it. i think everyone would be happier if people would just accept others and what they like to do.
if bmsr were into drugs, it wouldn't make them any less of a band
these guys are great! why the hell would you post something negative about them, people like miko kenos, the closed minded douche should should fuck off. seriously. grow up. where is your famous band that has a huge fan base??
If you haven't seent the movie Street Trash you probably wouldn't completely understand what this video was all about... its all crappy creepy comedic horror. I am pretty sure its one of Tobacco's favorites!
This video ruined the song for me. I don't know how to best describe it, but my idea of the song was a vast cosmic sound, and here this typical and common sensationalism of the horror theme was just so TINY in comparison. It just seemed so off.... to me.
Then again, on its own, the video is pretty good. But the song is serving the narrative rather than the other way around. Having known the song first, with that preconceived notion was quite jostling. Anyone else feel the disparity?
as the great philosphers the Foo Fighters once said: "the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best "
Ok. So let me get this straight. A guy wakes up cooks a hot dog over a toaster, spits out blood, and meantime girls are dancing at a grave yard. The man goes into a basement and gets eaten by the girls. Then they leave, and he is twitching and his severed head has a creepy grin.
I don't know about LSD, but the visual art and general aesthetic of the music go hand in hand with a mushroom trip. After taking them I was entirely sure this band uses them. Their album art is especially so.
acid acid acid. only the truly uninspired feel the need to associate a strange form of raw creativity with drug use. i think Boards Of Canada and old horror films have had far more of an affect on BMSR's creative direction than LSD.
lsd coud be associated with violence. if not only for that charlie manson business... and this sure sounds trippy.. so, i get it. i love it! it's a really good video.
@hairycandy my sarcasm detector is going off...if @haircandy is really Tobacco then i'd say you are more than qualified to say what BMSR is all about. love this video and i love me some BMSR

Quick story examination.

I really dont see how this sounds at all like that song.

I don't get this music video, but i love this band a lot! Totally relaxing, unique, and talented. AND JUST TO CLEAR EVERYONE UP! They aren't into drugs, don't believe me? Look up "black moth super rainbow interview", the video should pop up first.
skyeaterz 2 years ago 3
They are into drugs, actually. Tobacco just is a very passionate, detailed composer, as any musician should be. If drugs were the only thing that an individual needed to create good music, then a lot more good music would be out there than there is today.

Dang, you people are serious!! Don't getcho panties in a knot, it's only ROCK N ROLL! I love this band and I love this video. I see it as a statement on the absurdity of the fascination of cumming in a girl's mouth.
drcrazyhand 2 years ago
Umm this isn't rock and roll.
lol.
But it's still awesome.

What exactly is absurd about that? =P

and u know this because...

Your point? The music is still VERY trippy and fun to listen to while you're stoned.
rootbeer1000 2 years ago
however...there's nothing really wrong with enjoying psychedelics...
not every person who does drugs is a "drug addled retard", or "shroomhead" as you so eloquently put it. i think everyone would be happier if people would just accept others and what they like to do.
if bmsr were into drugs, it wouldn't make them any less of a band

these guys are great! why the hell would you post something negative about them, people like miko kenos, the closed minded douche should should fuck off. seriously. grow up. where is your famous band that has a huge fan base??
love street trash by the way!
zvoytas 2 years ago 4
If you haven't seent the movie Street Trash you probably wouldn't completely understand what this video was all about... its all crappy creepy comedic horror. I am pretty sure its one of Tobacco's favorites!

fans of not so talented bands like this, I invite you to read, "stuff white people like" by Christian Lander. It's about you
mikokenos 2 years ago
Lol, I've been wanting to read that ever since I saw Lander on Conan describing the thing.
