If that is the case and your suggestion is correct, then are you saying that certain words do not NEED certain letters? It's a classic matter of if you don't like it, don't listen to it. It's not the best cover, but it's cool to see a newer band paying tribute to the Clash. I happen to think it's a decent cover, not at all as good as the original, but good nonetheless. Bands have to make songs their own when they cover them.
