I have a space marine captain who is holding a chainsword, and i've painted the chains of the chainsword red, and then drybrushed some parts of it, to make it look like it has tasted the fear of the enemy.
this looks incredibly good (eventhough those wounds look a bit odd).
i'm quite new to warhammer 40k and just starting to do it but could you give me some advice how you get that perfect amount of paint on the brush? for me it's always either too much paaint on the same spot or no paint at all and i have to paint over it 5 times -_-
A truly awesome work of both building and painting a TrueScale, makes me want to try it.
The only thing that bugs me is that you always paint rust effects on Space Marines. Battle Scars and Damage on the Armor, sure, but Space Marines care more for their armor than their own lives, they should be immaculately cared for.
Other than that, you are an inspiration, Keep It Up!
another great figure have been studying your technique's and apply them to my wolve's ,can you put a small description of the battle damage paint that you done on this marine please once again "AWSOME"
@GirlPainting Wait, why use GW paints?!? I buy my own two oz. bottles from a local craft store for a buck less than the half ounce bottles do. GW already makes enough money off of us with their figures. :/
may i ask how you tend to your brushes? (how much paint do you put on the brush, how do you clean your brushes, ect) mine seem to wear down and fray fairly fast, i dont know if im just being too heavy handed when painting
may i ask how do you tend to your paint brushes and how much paint do you put on the brush when painting? mine seem to wear down fairly fast. im not sure if im just being too heavy handed when painting or something.
@EmperorCricri this stuff is called "Uhu Patafix" this is a clay to put posters on the wall, and it works great for holding minis wile painting. well, sometimes to good...i have twice riped of the mini from the base while atempting to get it loos after painting ;-)
@rougespeed85 there is actualy no real advice i can give you. first your painting is good, and second its hard to realy see close details on the mins because of the camera angle and lighting. and i cant understand as third a single word from what you are saying in your videos because i just speak german and english.
Another great video Alexandra! I always enjoy watching your speed painting videos. However, in this case I'm just not a fan of the green smears coming out of what I'm assuming are wounds. It just looks too... Nurgle-ly.
@Deefkej He HAS shoulder pads. I think she used some Terminator shoulder pads to keep them in scale with the rest of the size-increased figure. Not all pads have that rim you miss here.
Awesome as always Alexandra! Too bad it is not feasible to make an entire army true-scale. Would be nice if that is how the marines came. =) Regardless, I love it.
if GW was smart, space marines would actually be this big, they would be elites, and they would be in a codex for all imperial factions. that would be cool.
didnt expect that colour choice, was thinking you'd go red being a fellow Blood Angels fan. like the battered battle scarred look. you'll have to pop him near a normal marine in a later vid just so we can see how he looks.
whats next? Sanguinary Guard on the horizon at some point? i'd love to see what you do with them one day Alexandra. mmm shiny
@Lostsoul1889 i´d love to paint some of the new bloodys, but i dont have the money right now for them. i just baught me a new air brush kompressor and next on the list are paints and some tanks ;-)
unglaublich :D gut geworden dein truescale modell.
How do you put on decals so easily!! XD i can never get decals on

aw i wish the space maines were taller, there the size of a guardsman, just with more muscle which isnt right, but this is great.

Pretty damn fantastic there! I've never heard of true scale. I'd hate to think how much a true scale titan would cost.

Hey Alexandra! Great video and painting job! I really like your work.
Question: may you tell us what stuff / substance do you use to fix your models / bases on your paint pots? Is it glue tag?
Thanks for your answer(s)
Best regards.

What do you mean by "truescale"?
Liamwitz 1 year ago
@Liamwitz It means the model's more accurate in terms of size.
Normally marines are no taller than imperial guard models, when they should be at least another 2' taller.
