Work on some stage awareness/presence. You have skill but you have no groove. The audience isn't looking for speed but the feeling/emotions. No groove means people walking away even if you have some skill.
The country music lick is easy to learn by ear. Tap C on the A string (3rd fret), then C and G together on the C and D string (17th frets), then G on the E string (3rd fret), then C and G together on the C and D string (17th frets) again. Give that a shot and the rest should be easy to figure out by ear.
You can still play Norweigan Wood on a regular E A D G tuned bass. It is played the exact way as the A D G C tuning, the only difference is it sounds lower.
i explained in the last comment i left how i learned how to play it (i started by using to two-hand tap). it took a long time to learn and a lot of concentration but you'll get it eventually.
the way i learned to play the overtones was i origanally started using the two-hand tap method. i used my right hand to play the high notes, and left hand to play the low notes. it helped develop how it should sound. then you can work up to only using the left hand to play the whole line.
