  • how comes this song doesnt haves an extension yet? O_o

  • The original created by Xavier. Dubbed by SEGA.

  • This tune also reminds me of The Gap Band, upside your head.

  • Some people are imagining bad lyrics that clearly don't exist in this song... Disappointing.

  • 0:46 HE JUST FUCKED A SANTA!

  • i hear "work that son of a bitch"

  • @MidtownMadness2Fan

lmfao, ive never noticed that. thats awesome :P

  • It does say pingas Ropart.

  • Whoever did the US soundtrack for CD must have had a really depressing childhood...

  • @SyntaxMagenta Or fell on his head early on in his life.

  • @SyntaxMagenta I see it as the US soundtrack being what the composer felt (intimated by Robotnik's massive machines) and the JP soundtrack for what Sonic would feel ('You want some of this, Eggman?')

(Using both names was on purpose.)

  • 0:40

  • I heard the same c'mon on sonic 3 miniboss theme.

  • the ROAR begins. what what i heard.

  • JAZZERCISE WITH RICHARD SIMMONS!

  • Lol this is hilarious! (sidenote: it's a damn shame that even on a video like this I see a lot of hate speech and name-calling in the comments below)

  • HEH HEHEHEH

  • I like this one more

  • Heh heh heh heh hoo hoo hoo hoo "Work that body yeah, come on now!"

  • Jap/Eu: Amazing

    Usa: ...scary...

  • This depends the boss music you like or chose:

Jap/Eu: Get down and funky while beating Eggman to the curve.

USA: Get serious, this is a life or death. Break free from the Darkness to find the Light waiting for you.

That's what I describe about the two boss themes.

  • Could You Bass Boost This?

  • JP/EU:Ready For a Dance Off

    US:Peapare To Meet Your Doom,Sonic!

  • I've always wondered how some of these lyrics got past the censor. I mean 'He's a fucked up Santa' and 'RAAPE' WTF?

  • the us one sounds more like a boss fight

  • @TheJose3204 A boss fight full of Nightmare-Inducing Rape.

  • Sounds like this was recorded via turning on a tape recorder down the street of a parade.

Why is this even on youtube?

  • @noptic um the crowd cheering and noise is part of the music if that's what you're talking about derp lol

  • @YHUAN01

No I meant moreso, the quality is terrible and you can barely hear anything at all. Like you are listening to the song being played from a block away.

  • @noptic no the quality is fine I can hear the vocals fine I just don't know exactly what they're saying (thanks to the top comment I know though now)

  • JAP: OOOHOHOHOHOHO US: AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAaaaaaah....

  • 0:53

    HOO-GO-HOO-GO-HOO-GO-HOO-GO-HOO-GO-HOOOHOHO!

  • It's good that They FINALLY Used this music in the PSN/XBLA Released.

  • @conradojavier AND the US version... >:D

  • @Coolblue3680 I was Expecting a Third Soundtrack (Remake including Crush 40's Cover of Sonic Boom)

  • @conradojavier In that case, go onto iTunes and Search Sonic CD.

  • One of the things I don't like about the USA soundtrack is that the music doesn't seem to fully fit the zone. Tidal Tempest suits Collision Chaos better, Metallic Madness suits Wacky Workbench Better & Quartz Quadrant (the zone which he USA tracks suited the least) would have sounded better for Tidal Tempest. The only redemption the USA tracks had was the fact that they suited the Bad Future quite well.

  • WHAT....is this.........DANCING MUSIC?

  • @Sporademus465 i guess some say it gives pepole more of a sonic vybe

  • better than the U.S. one, gives me the creeps.

  • Huh, I always heard "Work that sucka, beat him on down." This makes WAY more sense

  • such a sick boss theme song. I have no idea but it's so fitting for Sonic because it reality he's just so cool...it's fitting in the same way that Sonic 3's boss theme works too.

  • @frozenray0079 U mean sonic 3's miniboss theme?

  • @BillyandBoby yes indeed!

  • Jap: GO GET HIM SONIC!

    Usa: *Crys and Shudders*

  • @milkkirby I think sega wanted to make the children from the usa piss their pants, well thats my theory.

  • @milkkirby I'll say. xD

  • @milkkirby Yeah that boss-track from the American version is so scary.

  • @milkkirby also on the euro version

  • the japaniess are fucking hypocrits

  • This is so much better than the US version.

  • 5 people never had someone work that sucker to death! lol

  • When I first heard this I heard "Work that sexy bitch!". Lol.

  • Hahahaha "Work that sucker to death" is my new catchphrase now XD

  • make a extended version of this song, please!!!

  • Songs like this put in a life-threatening situation makes the scenario more intense.

  • WORK THAT CRACKER TO DEATH!!!

  • I'm tripin' balls...%__&

  • Egg man doing an arobix video?

  • work that sucker to death

  • @SilverCoatLion Exactly what i thought the first time i heard this 0_o

  • Quiet possibly the gayest Sonic music ever.

  • If sonic 3 game over used to scare me, i'm GLAD i never played the US version of this

  • SHAKE YO' ASS!!!!

  • As the music played, I couldn't help but shake my ass.

  • WORK THAT SUCKER TO DEATH, COME ON NOW!!

    WORK THAT SUCKER TO DEATH!!

WORK THAT SUCKER TO DEATH, COME ON NOW!!

    WORK THAT SUCKER TO DEATH!!

THE WAR BEGAN, THE EARTH TREMBLING WITH FEAR, BOLD, BRAINY AND COLD HEARTED, THE DISTANCE GROWS CLOSER LITTLE BY LITTLE, WOW THE POWER HE'S POSSESING IS INCREDIBLE, HE DOESN'T STAND A CHANCE!!!

    Pingas!!

    -Robotnik

  • Sonic CD had the most unique bosses around you had to get through a pinball machine breath your way to hit Robotnik run a treadmill until robotnik died and race a Mechanical version of Sonic Metal Sonic to the end of the level

  • doesn't sound japanese, the LYRICS ARE IN ENGLISH FOR OBVIOUS SAKE!!!!!

    gullible people you...

  • @CerberusT93

    videogame samples

  • @BlueHylton7 oh =|

  • @CerberusT93 How do English lyrics make people gullible, exactly...?

  • @TehFoamy not the lyrics, the title makes people gullible. but this is probably the European version or something

  • @CerberusT93 And how is the European soundtrack any different from the Japanese soundtrack?

  • @TehFoamy again, the lyrics being different languages. can't you figure out the obvious!?!?

  • @CerberusT93 Because the Japanese soundtrack couldn't possibly have English lyrics in it!

You're not very smart, are you?

  • @TehFoamy Of coarse it could! but that would be terrible marketing trying to sell something in English to those that don't speak it! =D then again I'm sure they wouldn't want to hear it in their language anyway because the lyrics are so corny! xD

whatever, USA version is better anyway for the fact that it actually sounds like something that would be in a boss fight as opposed to a dance tutorial video.

  • @CerberusT93 Well, I doubt that they advertised the game by using this song. XD But the Japanese have included plenty of English lyrics in songs, so it's definitely nothing new.

I think the main difference between the Japanese and American soundtracks is that the American soundtrack is more... empathetic than the Japanese one. It tries to evoke a more serious, solemn feeling in its tracks. Japan's audience also doesn't take Eggman as seriously as America's audience, so there's that as well.

  • @TehFoamy true, true. then again myself being french i'm kinda used to seeing everything dubbed

(which sucks because its usually so poorly done xD) and somehow thought the Japanese were like that too, guess not.

anyhow, the American version also has that dark mechanical feel to it whereas the Japanese version sounds more fun (even the game-over screens reflects this too o.o). But yeah what were we even fighting about anyway? xD

  • @CerberusT93 Ah, that would explain it. XD Are soundtracks often dubbed that heavily in France?

Well, my opinion is that both soundtracks do a good job of conveying their respective levels. It's just that Japan's soundtrack does so in a more upbeat, light-hearted way while America's takes on a more empathetic feel, as I mentioned before. At the end of the day, it just comes down to the preferences of the listener.

I don't even know what we were fighting about anymore. XD

  • @TehFoamy Well, contrary to the stereotype I'm not from France so I can't exactly answer that (im from Quebec, Canada). but as for the dubs what i meant by "poorly done" is that you can often hear the original english in the background xD.

though I agree about the soundtracks, its all a matter of preferences really. but according to Wikipedia they're not using the American soundtracks for the upcoming re-release due to licensing issues =(.

  • @CerberusT93 Well, I just assumed that you were from France, since you said you were French as opposed to "French Canadian". XD But wow, those dubs really DO sound shitty.

Hm? That seems kinda odd. I guess it's also understandable, since the American soundtrack had never reached Japanese shores to my knowledge.

  • @TehFoamy yeah, my mistake, sometimes i'm not specific xD.

hey, maybe they'll find a solution and use both if were lucky.

  • work that robotinik to death, come on now! work that robotnik to death

  • Better than the USA version.

  • cant tell if its work that while you can or work that sucker to death

  • @knucklesfan8 it's "work that sucker to death"

    /watch?v=A4MC-izHi5w

  • BEAT DAT SUCKA TO DEATH C MON NOW

  • and that is why i always play the japanese version of sonic cd

  • I think this themes emphasizes the difference in how Robotnik was perceived by Japan and America. Eggman was always considered a tongue-in-cheek comic relief of a villain in Japan, hence the silliness of his song. while Robotnik was always an imposing, terrifying foe through American eyes.

  • @Cam3leon

No, it just explains what happens when you rush something. The JP soundtrack obviously was going for something way different. When they realized they had to change the soundtrack....well, they got lazy.

  • @RemiusTheAwesome Lol well I didn't think the US soundtrack sounded bad per se. But the JP soundtrack sounded much better, no denying that lol

  • work thos sloppy Gentiles , COME ON NOW , work them

  • DISCO PINGAS

  • Never liked JP/EU soundtrack. Though the first level's music is okay, but the rest...

  • *imagines Eggman carrying a whip in one hand, marching to the rhythm as he flails his whip at small woodland creatures*

WORK that sucker to death! COME ON, now, WORK that sucker to death!

WORK that sucker to death! COME ON, now, WORK that sucker to death!

  • @GreentheGunstar Yeah you post is so original that its on like every fucking video of this song...

  • @Clesarie

*whips Clesarie* >:|...I'm having fun right now, okay, so stop it...lol...

  • its called work that sucker to death not work that son of a bitch (But it's actually a real song so go check it out!) the artist's name is XAVIER and he also did this version of WORK THAT SUCKER TO DEATH

  • @JM11238 It was a joke LOL And it was funny :D

  • @XxMrmoneyKing Ok you got me but to tell ya the truth I thought the lyrics would be just like work that son of a bitch

  • @JM11238 lol WORK THAT SON OF A BITCH!

  • @ScottQB4 But it couldn't bin cool if that was the actual title of the song dude (^-^)

  • @JM11238 I know.

  • is it wierd that i kinda like this song?

  • "Work that fat bitch, come on now! Work that fat bitch."

  • @BennyDia I always thought as a Kid that he said 'Work that Son of a bitch, come on now, work that Son of a bitch.'

  • jp eggman : hey sonic lets dance off with my michine

usa eggman: sonic this is the last time you WILL DIE

  • I liked both versions, the USA version was a treat because it creeped me out when I heard it as a kid and it's still an awesome creepy song.

  • JAP:Ready for a dance off?

US:Pepare to meet your doom Sonic

  • Now this is how I remember it :D Christmas 1993 the joy, YES MAN!

  • This should have been the good future boss music, then the us be the bad future boss music. And then have final fever be the final boss music.

  • U.s.a. Boss music rules.us

  • @sonicmania2

    you mean generic and boring

  • @hylton7 No! I mean it rules but not for a sonic game. But neither does the japan music fit. Comprimise.

  • @SEGASayWhat I'm gonna start liking Vector's singing instead. It'll hurt less.

  • i like this better than the nightmre usa vesion ok who thinks that usa is scary

  • i like this better than the nightmre usa vesion ok who thi

  • It seems every Japanese/European song in Sonic CD is tamer compared to the North American version.

  • 39,000 views! I love this song!

  • watch?v=A4MC-izHi5w

  • sounds like the fresh prince and michael jackson having a dance contest on treadmils.

  • This sounds like Robotnik is about to breakdance against Sonic or something

  • This does a lot better job at being a boss theme for the pinball boss thingy.

  • US version is friggin creepy

  • Sounds like Robotnik wants to beat you in a breakdancing competition.

    Challenge accepted.

  • @NATGOLEON

Robotnik: You bettah step it up, mutha f****.

  • I kinda prefer this one then the US version :)

  • @4567jackthkiller Everyone does.

  • is it me or am i hearing bluto from popeye the sailor man singing in the song

  • 4 people couldn't work that sucker to death

  • did anyone else realize that the song says BITCH AND FUCK! in it. How could they release that

    lol

  • @rrocker311 eggman cussed?lol

  • This is the worst Sonic boss music I ever heard

  • @KesterStudios I disagree. This is my favorite sonic boss theme. Bah.

  • @KesterStudios

    live and learn is worse

  • @hylton7 How is Live And Learn worse?

  • @KesterStudios i agree, i think the US version was way better

  • @Degslon I disagree. This boss theme is so bad, it's good. Therefore I like the jap boss theme better.

  • @KesterStudios Implying the US version is any better.

  • @mslurr The US is better.

  • @KesterStudios The US version is scarier. It sounds like something that would play in an alien invasion or something. THIS version is freaking disco music. The US version is more fitting for Robotnik.

  • @HawtDawg925 i know the US is much better than this. What r they even saying in this song.

  • @KesterStudios Supposedly SEGA sampled the voice clips from actual songs. You can make out the words "work that sucker to death." I'm guessing it would mean something in Japan, this being the Japanese version? :/

  • @HawtDawg925 It's sampled from the song by Xavier - Work that sucker to death.

  • @HawtDawg925 no the jap. version sounds like a rap for world domination.

  • Robotnik, fighting you with this music would be awesome!

  • 0:01 NEH HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!!!

    0:03 OHH HOOHOOHOOHOO!!!!!!!

  • how is the final boss music called?

  • "Work That Sucker To Death, Come on HOW"!
