Coliform is a general term describing many different microbes. One reason people buy raw milk is specifically for the live microbes present in the milk, which some health benefits are attributed to both anecdotally and from the research. He says coliform count doesn't matter because his milk is already tested specifically for the "potentially harmful" microbes. Do your homework "Cowman". If you're really concerned, I'm sure Mark would welcome you to personally inspect the health of his cows.

My family has been drinking Organic Pastures raw milk and cream for years,heck, we even eat raw milk cheese. My husband had decided to stop drinking pasteurized milk because it made him sick. We switched to raw milk and he hasn't complained since. In general, we try to avoid pasteurized milk products.

Actually there have been quite a number of cases in which people have gotten sick after consuming pasteurized milk . raw milk really don't have any more danger then lets say eating raw vegetables . So are you going to go around outlawing raw vegetables or asking everyone to eat boiled vegetables ...I don't think so.

I eat raw meat, raw eggs, raw chicken, raw dairy, even raw spinach haha... of course I only buy from trusted sources, where animals are healthy and not fed pesticide ridden gmo grains and other garbage. I believe more in terrain theory and that a healthy person will not get sick from a little salmonella. But an infirm person may need to be more careful about which microbes they ingest. Our bodies have more microbial cells than human cells.

Raw meat is not inherently dangerous. Infact, beef tartare is a french dish commonly eaten in french restaurants. The danger comes in when the meat is improperly prepared, handled, or raised in the first place. Would I eat raw meat or cooked meat? If it was properly prepared, I would and have eaten raw meat. If it's been improperly prepared or handled, I'll cook it. If it was improperly raised, I'll leave it in the cooler at the supermarket.

Whittier Farms in MA have had 4 deaths and 1 miscarriage linked to listera found in their milk at the processing plant. Pushing raw milk as safe is insane. A farm here in Pa had several people get sick from salmonella found in the milk. If it is so safe then why don't half the states in the union allow the sale of it? Mark McAffee is really pushing his luck. MILK MUST BE PASTUERIZED!

if drinking raw milk was soooo dangerous then how could people ever possibly survive on it for hundreds if not thousands of years? Most of all how can a calf with low immunity could possibly drink milk straight from the utter and survive? Truth is if you have a sick cow you will have 'sick milk'. A cow who is raised in a confined place eating food that it was not meant to eat is a sick cow.

I see and take care of sick cows every day and have done this for years. Calves that drink straight from the udder from sick cows also get sick and die. The colostrum (1st milk with heavy antibodies) from our cows is tested before it goes to a calf. Ours then get pasteurized waste milk or a replacer. Organic dairies have a hard time with raising calves.

As i explained before a sick cow will give sick milk and no cow which is sick should be forced to give milk. Now can you tell me that these cows you handle are free on grass pastures and allowed to just be a cow ? Industry cows have been feed anything from soy to meat , I'd be surprised if they wouldn't get sick. And I can't believe you feed calves 'pasteurized waste milk'. They must have everything from skeletal problems to gastrointestinal problems.

No cow is ever "forced" to give milk. They want to give milk. You obviously no nothing of bovive physiology. Our cows are feed a diet of 60% forages and 40% grains. Organic dairy farms also use grains in their rations. Don't be mislead. Cows can get sick like any other mammal. They aren't indestructable. FYI, our calves are very very healthy.
