Sounds like standard E (E B G D A E), that is well in need of a tuning. Buy a piezo tuner my friend its well worth the money. Good talent deserves good tuning. An i wont knock classical on a steel string ( i used to do that and ocassionally do ) but a nylon string is much more adapted to the classical style.

haha yeah it may not affect the sound but it affects the performance. The guy wouldn't have to "chuck" the notes with his right hand. Placing the the guitar on your left leg puts your right arm/hand in a more relaxed position. and that, btw, is about 90% of what constitutes "the sound of the guitar", classical at least

It affects the tone as the guitar is closer to the whole body and projects further and it's better for posture.
