I play with them and it's really helpfull. And with the moment at the 2:07 i guess , you should play only bass with hi-hat... And hi-hat should, must! be closed at the full song , and open with moment at 3:35 then you should open the hi-hat for few secs.

No, Lars is not a great drummer. He was very impressive on Kill 'em all, he was good on ride the lightening. he was 'ok' on Master of puppets and and justice for all. But if you have not noticed, he has been playing the same basic beat for the last 20 years.
Your high hat rings A LOT also when your hitting your crash dont switch them up so much . . .it sounds better if you hit the same one. have two for when you need to hit it at a strange position or something and it would be an awkward reach or something.
