There was a radio drama on earlier this year about the maing of this film, I think it was called 'Vincent Price and the english blood beast of terror' (or something like that!). It's quite good.
These sorts of folms are banned by Daily Mail readers, quite often they haven't even seen it.
@Criminology2009 Hmm, I'll have to see if I can somehow get my hands on it. Might try and upload it if the copyright issues aren't too crazy.
Why would Daily Mail Readers need to see a film and form an opinion on it when someones already told them what opinion they should have. You can't expect them to think for themselves, that would be madness.
Cenorship is ridiculous, so your rant was justified. Loved the Benny Hill gag at the end. Hilarious!!! Great video as always, and I agree that this an excellent flick.
@KruegerNation Thanks man, I have to admit it took me a good solid minute of thinking 'Is this a bad thing to do, is this too morbidly offensive?'
Looks like I didn't offend anyone. Guess I'll just have to raise the bar for the next video. God I've been on youtube for like six months now and haven't gotten any hate comments yet. I thought this was the internet!
@SCOTTISHFILMFAN Cheers for the kind comments as usual mate. I highly recommend this film but if your ordering it for the love of god make sure you get the uncut version. The film will be bad quality sometimes because the cut scenes were mastered from an alternative source but its worth having them in there, mainly to contribute to the mood of the ending.
I understand your rage, man. Aside from Horror movies (or movies in general), comic books are another medium that many people complain about content. As an avid comic reader, it pisses me off when these snobby self-proclaimed intellectuals pan good writers and books because it offends them for some pussy reason.
@johnnyhorror92182 I don't read many comics or graphic novels but I remember wanting to take a look at Alan Moore's 'From Hell'. It wasn't banned in Australia outright but there was such a hate campaign launched against it that it was impossible to buy. Finally got a copy though and oh boy, blew my mind. More than Watchmen even. Something about it is just amazing to me. Its not just one of the best graphic novels I have read but its one of the best works of literature that I have read.
@RainbowReelcinema Here in the States, books like "Watchmen" and "From Hell" are seen "Classics" among comic fans. But when more controversial, violent or adult content is brought into more mainstream books (spiderman, batman, JLA) then shit hits the fan and snobby fanboys call for the writers head.
@johnnyhorror92182 Oh weird, we have never had a problem with that over here at all. Any issue of a normal comic goes by without a whisper no matter what the content inside it is.
@RainbowReelcinema It is weird. I do not know how to explain it, but maybe it all comes down to the taste of the reader...but there is a growing segment of readers (who I kinda view as the extreme right-wing of fans) who want comics to be "more reader friendly" and go back to that innocent age where nothing bad happens.
Also, if you want to read a really dark, disturbing, balls-to-the-wall horror story, look up the Trade Collection of a comic called "CROSSED". It's fucked up...
Good one! I haven't seen Witchfinder General, but I'm a sucker for anything involving Vincent Price. Have you ever seen Bloodbath at the House of Death?
@thebrb30000 No I haven't but with a title as stupidly awesome as that and staring Vincent Price then ask me again in a week and I'll probably say yes.
For those of you wondering how the hell I could mix my dates up and say that the witch hunters were operating during 1965 I have a very valid excuse. I live in Western Australia and we are a little behind the rest of the developed world, so over here witch burnings are still a common practice to this very day. Anyway sorry about the mix up, I need to go keep an eye on my neighbor. He has the cranium span of a carriage stealer.
It's a really good film. My film lecturer wrote a good book on the director Michael Reeves. The shoot was very interesting, Reeves and Price didn't get on at all, it was a shame he died so young and didn't get to do many films.
Nice ending BTW. it should be a game like whack a mole...dunk a witch
@RainbowReelcinema I'll PM a link to the amazon UK site as it's the cheapest place to get it. Apparently it's being developed into a Hollywood Biopic.
You only gave your speech to justify this Benny Hill-Ending! Confess!! ;-)

@lampyman101 The Benny Hill theme is always appropriate. Always. Also, best part of the film is 'You took him from me! YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME!'
Any chance that book is up for purchase online anywhere? Would be an interesting read for me.
