Quite frankly, I don't even know what I'm doing with the strumming. I think you just have to fool around with it until it sounds right. Try taking one chord at a time and don't let your mind focus too much on whether its "down up" or "up down" or whatever. Your mind will just need to get used to hearing it out and then feeling it out as you strum. Don't worry - that was the biggest challenge for me as I was learning. Stick with it until it just "clicks" (which it will - eventually!). Good luck!
