  • "Giant white bowl...we can all drink from." -Clever

  • Polished bronze mirrors were available to the rich, poor people would use basins of water to see their reflections.

  • Why are you, perhaps the poster child for what it means to be American, not our president, Bill?

  • "Americans are from the future, and we have to make sure it stays that way".

Good Lord, Bill. That needs to be on the side of the Washington Monument or something.

  • check out wiki islam for "top 10 islamic inventions debunked"

  • So America is more scientifically advanced than Ancient Egypt? Wow well done, pat yourselves on the back.

  • Brilliant work, PJTV!!

Stick that up ya, you Commie scumbags!

  • why only 6,000 views ?

  • @SunViewing Most would say its a very conservatively biased channel and shouldn't be bothered to watch. I would say its a channel where the truth is freely spoken without shame, and that's why the ONLY way it spreads is through word of mouth or like-minded people.

  • why should we curve the greed so more can have health care ? every body dies true but why make death whole sale when we can delay it

  • When you look in Bills eyes at the last monologue at 9:16 I almost think it will be okay someday.

If only this was in the media and not the infotainment which we called news today.

  • Just in case you didn't understand the point of the video, he's pointing out how far we have gotten and how many things we take for granted that royalty back in the day never had. America, where the things he's listing are quite abundant for everyone, has a lot to be thankful for but many aren't.

  • I love this!

  • Phaoroh couldn't read English, dude.....

  • gmo food and fluoridated water. I'm good with eating from the 7-Eleven lol

  • GREAT video, Bill! You're so correct. EXCEDRIN MIGRAINE is the most wonderful stuff in the world! It WORKS! Ha.. so sadly, so many "spoiled" people today do NOT realize what they have, and are all too ready to give their freedom up so easily! Keep up the great work, Bill! Go Tea Partiers!!

  • This video is amazing. 5 billion stars

  • I have long held the opinion that we take everything in our life for granted. You obviously hold the same opininion...although expressed much more eloquently than my oft repeated "morons"

  • @mrkimberfan "morons" works fine. It's concise and apt.

  • What an amazing story. That was great. And you only tapped the wonders of a convenience store.

  • An exercise in perspective. What a great one. People need to compare the standard of living today to the standard of living in the US in 1980 even. We need to step back and take a good look at ourselves. The entitlement mentality will be the death of our civilization.

  • gave me goosebumps...

  • I'm from the future and I want BEER!

And NO, I don't know how to make beer. So stop asking.

  • @redcollargedeon Making beer is easier than you might think. Ales are easier to do than lagers because lagers will require more fridge space. Go to a home-brew shop and ask some questions if you're interested.

  • WELL DONE!

  • This is 21st century philosophy. Bill you are a modern day philosophical genius. I love watching your insightful, brilliant, and inspiring videos. Thank you, thank you very much for bring some awe to my mundane life.

  • I think Bill went a little deep for some of the kids on here. ;)

    Fantastic, as usual!

  • That was fun!

  • I am always stunned by the people who think that modern technology and the people who bring it to us are the root of all evil. Even worse is that they believe people used to have it better than us!

  • Well two edged sword ...

    ;)

  • Oh wow... thanks, Bill. Outstanding.

  • that was pretty cool

  • Quite a perspective....

  • Is it boring and unoriginal because you cannot understand it, or much less, be objective enough to understand his point?

  • Comment removed

  • I laughed aloud when you said "A 7-11 store", and kept thinking (former soldier that I am) "I don't wanna die for an Oreo cookie!" Of course there HAVE been times when I might have been willing to KILL for one *grin*. Great one Bill!

  • Great presentation, one mistake, please don't be offended if I point it out, Egyptians had ice and the technology to make it. Quite simple really, a large jar was filled with water and through the night slaves would ladle water over the surface of the jar, as the water evaporated it cooled the water in the jar until it began to form ice.

  • Evaporative cooling is a way to keep things chilled, but can it really achieve sub freezing temperatures in a desert environment? Do you have a source for this please?

  • Look at the phenomenon of windchill factors. You can get below freezing temperatures in a higher temp environment with a relatively light wind, and when you couple that with increasing evaporative cooling and the dryness of the desert air which promotes evaporation it wouldn't be that difficult to do. Check google for sources. I read about this in the seventies. Have you ever got frost on your windshield on a night that didn't get down to 32 degrees f.? Same principle. Thanks for the reply.

  • actually it was pretty interesting, if you don't like it and care to share that with us, it may say something about you or the way you think

  • It's neofeudalism being pushed by globalists through unions and environmentalists and government that's killing us. The enemy of man is well known. Turn off the football game, walk out on your church, ignore your politicians.

  • I do kind of struggle to understand what the real point of this clip is.... it ends with a little bit of fear mongering and little bit of hope - but it's all too vague and nudge-nudge wink-wink so that it allows the viewer to feel he's representing whatever "essential elements" they think are "under attack" and in need ot them to "fight back" against this "serious trouble".

  • 'giant white bowl that all can drink from' - the TOILET?

Actually I LOVE this guy - he's smart, clever, insightful, creative.

  • nicely put....but you took FOREVER to get to a seemingly small point

  • I thought it was a little corny, but it did its job and made a great point about the wonders that we take for granted.

  • In another 3,000 years everything we do today will look like barbarism.

  • But not if we can stop it. If we destroy innovation, we could stay just where we are forever, or with a little more effort, we could even step backwards.

  • ...Or like a Utopia if our future generations arent careful...

  • Potato chips aren't really safe to eat... xD

  • Wow that makes you think good job bill

  • Bill Whittle is the man

  • So many take gas and electricity for granted.

  • Wow, a Westerner who is not only unapologetic for the achievements of his culture, but is actually proud of them. The multiculturalists will be spinning in their graves with moral equivalence arguements racing through their indoctrinated minds.

Sadly, you are a rare breed in these times.

  • Giza is the name of the modern town next to the great pyramids. Khufu was the king who built the largest of the pyramids. The Greeks called him Cheops - pronounced Kee'- ops.

  • its called giza not cheops

  • Cheops was a Pharaoh, not a place.

  • hi chip. I call it chopped gizzard.

  • This would be an excellent speech to give for speech class.

  • I like this comparison it makes a good point.

  • Bill, you da man! From the tea bag express to you tube, we love to listen to your amazing speaking and anecdotal abilities. You're a gifted man. You deliver a point like nobody I've seen.

    Keep 'em coming :)

  • Pharaoh's wonderment reminds me of Jose Arcadio Buendia from One Hundred Years of Solitude as he marvels at the great gifts and inventions of the Gypsy Malquiades.

  • Melquiades.

  • I would have slaughtered all the egyptians for some oreos and cold milk at this moment.

  • There was no way for them to seriously filter it, plus you could get at that time cholera. Seriously there is no match between the quality of water of today and a long time ago. You have no idea how blessed you are opening the tap and have cool clean water.

About the car, the whole industry made it ubiquitous, a commodity. Much like I believe space travel soon will be.

    From the future.

  • You know that pure water actually exists in nature and if you know where to find it, someone like a king just might, you can find water that has been naturally purified.

It also exists in places where humans haven't destroyed the natural ecosystem even to this day. Does the term 'spring water' ring a bell?

Don't hold your breath on that space travel thing.

  • Somewhat true. Underground aquifers can have potable drinking water, but understand that humans can purify any water, from virtually any source. This certainly wasn't possible more than 100 years ago. And by the way, mother nature actually does more damage to the natural ecosystem than anything humans have done, and yet we're still able to purify water from such events.

  • people have known how dangerous unpurified water has been for thousands of years, and have known to boil it, and even better to distill it as they began to in the middle ages. Every castle, every upper class home at the very least had a stillroom, and making safe drinking water was their main job. Took a class on it this summer- amazing stuff really.

  • Even so, the ability to merely purify water was not available to everyone everywhere like it is in the modern industrialized world. If you read the diaries of Lewis and Clark, for instance, they had a hell of a time with dysentery at repeated instances because metal containers with which to boil water were expensive and didn't last all that long. And you have to remember that it wasn't up until Pasteur that people really didn't understand why boiling water did any good.

  • Yeah, this is why in Africa people die like flies. Because industry polluted the water.

I'm not saying that there is no pure natural water, but it's in rather low amounts. You can't go to some natural river and just start drinking water from it. Animals are living in that water.

It is a reason why the life expectancy is higher in countries with better economies and surprisingly it is not related to universal health care.

  • Sadly many of our politicians want to replicate Africa. They do

this in an attempt to fight a ghost called global warming. We are fools if we allow them to take our freedoms for a man made myth.

  • Are all your posts this completely ignorant? Go to Egypt during the time of Medjedu Khufu (Cheops), 25892566 BC, and find some "pure water". There was no such thing in Egypt at that time. You drank parasite infested mud. Water today is far cleaner than it was then.

This was not about healthcare. It was about perspective and context and being grateful for the times we live in.

Automobiles, to a Pharaoh, most certainly would be considered from the future.

    Perspective. Learn it.

  • 2589 - 2566 BC***

  • Actually pure water (distilled water) has not been around in readily available form until more recently. It used to be that your life insurance rates would be cheaper if you drank alcohol, because you were less likely to contract a disease than from drinking water.

Of course automobiles are not from OUR future. Nothing in this video is from OUR future, but the future of the ancient Egyptians.

Universal health care is a myth. It exists nowhere and cannot exist.

  • Perspective. Look how far we've come. That is the point of this video. But suppose we look back at a time not so long ago; at the time of our nation's founding. Airplanes hadn't been invented, there was no harnessing of electricity beyond the lightning rod. 40 years old was old-age and not many lived to see 50. Yes, you should be grateful of where we came from and what has been accomplished since the days of horse and buggy. Our world is cleaner, safer, and abundant compared with the past

  • This video was definitely one of the best to come out of PJTV. I've heard all the talk about thankfulness and "we'll get through this" before, but this one put that point interestingly and effectively. Nice work.

  • Compare water reflection to industrial mirrors. He would have been blown away by the quality of them.

And one more thing, in the video it's about video cameras and TVs. Did pharaoh had them too?

  • must of been the mongoloid part that got the thumbs DOWN, wake up you dip shit's Chris Martenson makes this point in a much more intelligent fashion

  • pharaoh want nachos and cheese

  • Without energy - electricity, natural gas, etc. How many people would it take to keep the same standard of living?

Politicians are saying we consume too much energy, yet they live far above our energy usage.

Vote out the ones that wish to restrict your freedoms, whatever form it may take.

  • PJTV ROCKS. Thanks all.
