The ratio of deaths is a) irrelevant and b) consistent with the fact that more men serve and more do still serve in hazardous roles. If you knew anything about these conflicts, however, you would know that death is not the only price paid by veterans; and some service-related traumas are more frequently experienced by women. Bottom line: other than showing how little you know about the military or care about vets, what is your point? Why the hell are you bringing up Affirmative Action?

The numbers have a lot more to do with the ratio of women to men than they do with the jobs they do; just about anybody can be struck by an IED in a convoy. Plus, women who serve are more likely to face divorce, homelessness, and sexual assault within the military. And most of all, you have a lot of nerve belittling anyone's service under any circumstances.

The important thing EVERYONE needs to realize about veterans is that they are still adults. Just because they are war veterans does not excuse them from personal responsibility. I am an active duty soldier by the way, and I've met many people who joined the military that are irresponsible people and will be that same way after they leave the military.

They come back to America where their are no jobs, no manufacturing and very little opportunities and expect to live a civilian life. Sounds a lot like Vietnam vets and these vets probably still don't even know what they were really fighting for. Its a shame and only going to get a lot worse.
