It's about six people [two gay people (one who's a cross dresser) two lesbians (actually, I think one of the girls is bi) and a straight couple] who all have HIV/AIDS. They're living in the slums (dunno what else to call it) of New York and are struggling to pay their RENT.

ehh...Your KINDA there. For one, they don't all have HIV/AIDS. Only Collins/Angel (the gay couple as you put it) And Mimi/Roger(the straight couple.) Yes one of the females is Bi(Maureen.) And the others a Lesbian. They're living in the East Village in the 1980's (which at the time, it pretty much was the slums) Mimi is struggling with herione addiction as well as HIV/AIDS and Roger is a recovering herione addict. Along with the struggle to pay RENT from there landlord (and old roomate,) Benny.

Yes, the guy from Law AND Order sings really WELL. His name is Jesse L. Martin. Tracie Thoms also has an amazing voice. She makes my eyes water. Everyone in the movie sings well but I think they sing the best.
