I suppose you should press the reset button. It's a tiny grey button near the cartridges. You hold it for 10 seconds and let the printer do some initialization. Most epson printers have one.
Nope, not yet. Every now and then I plug it in just to see if thre's any change but nothing. It's been suggested that I take it in someplace for servicing but I think it's going to end up costing more than a new printer. Let me know if you ever manage to get it resolved!
Mine goes BANG right after that initializing sequence,and comes up error. Then I get mad and let it sit for a year,dig it back out,and it works fine again for a while.
