the majority of the dinosaur effects in jurassic park were digital, made on silicon graphics workstations. it was amazing for its time, and did win an oscar, but the world has never seen special effects as good as what they've done in this movie. i'll be stunned if this doesn't win an oscar as well.

6 of one, a half dozen of the other... a technical mishap that I missed in editing, mostly because I was editing 1080i footage mixed with SD DV footage and my little Macbook was frame dropping in the scrub, made it hard to see what was and was not properly aligned. and given how long it took to export, I decided to live with it... the project already took far more time than I'd budgeted.
