last winter i travelled 960klm per week in the snow and had no problems in the morning but travelling the same road in the evening due to bad drivers being out it took so long to get anywhere,.

Formula 1 engines do not hit the bloody revs some of these cars are hitting .lol

I have been driving high powered motorbikes / cars for years in Ireland and that sort of bad driving goes on everyday of the week,not just when it snows.It is no wonder insurance prices keep climbing. BE AWARE OF BAD DRIVER'S more than likely one of these fools will take your life.

how dumb, a lot of the cars trying to move and using huge amounts of revs, yet its obvious that they are not lifting the clucth otherwise with those revs would come wheel spin, which also tells me they havent a clue how to deal with such conditions .

@Mathewmartialart They are lifting the clutch, as you can here the trye spinning madly against the ice, but as they don't have limited slip differentials, only one wheel will spin... which just so happened to be the wheel on the side opposite the camera.

But you are entirely correct in them not knowing how to drive in such conditions.

@Mathewmartialart unless you have a LSD, or both wheels have zero traction, only one will spin... that's how differential gearboxes work.

I came back here for Christmas in 2009 to see my relatives of course because we were living in Australia and that vid was recorded the day we left Ireland to go to Australia but we have moved back now and loving every single moment of it

You can see a good example of bad driving tactics at 5:40-5:55, the little red car with the spinning wheels slides over from the black ice in the middle to the white snow to the left - where there's probably still a bit of grip, driver get scared (?) by the little "clonk" in the gearbox so he/she stops, and then he/she very carefully reverses back out to get all four wheels on the black ice again!

Winter tyres or no, this video makes me laugh :) The thruth is that when i went to karting at racing levels, i was one from the few drivers who could start on black ice in 1st gear, many could begin forwarding only in 2nd, all this with no winter tyres. The truth is, that time people here in Romania didn't really know what does it mean winter and summer tyres, what is the difference, all with this from the next winter will be obligatory by us from 1st November till 31st March.

Is enough to look at Finland, where grandmoms are driving as racing drivers in some countries with no snow and mountains :)

Is enough to go winter time for example in Hungary and to laugh on many drivers of them :) No driving skills but a very big ego with opinions like "U came from Romania/Ukraine/Serbia etc. so you can't drive in traffic civilised.". The thing with grandmoms and racing drivers is a little ironic, but is enough to have a look: karting school from Kerpen gave 2 F1 world champions, Hungary had only one F1 racing driver.

the wheels are spinning only because cars have a differential only one wheel spins at a time instead of both of them. thats how theyre designed.

And not only this is he reason as i mean you know. Also there are some tricks, for example to let lower the tyre pressure compared to manufacturer's value with about 0,2 bars. But the most important is that people in this situation have to lift the clutch very slow and to push the throttle only 1-2mm's to keep idle rpm. Winter tyres also helps a lot.

One thing I just noticed why do all these cars revving their engines...the tires don't spin yet the engine is revving like crazy? almost like they are in neutral :/

I hate winter driving. Especially in my front wheel drive car :( always get stuck..but the cool thing is there are always those good Samaritans around to help me =D even if it means filling up their shoes with snow just to help me :)

@TheRDPKsnow clouds passed over ireland just two days ago coming down from greenland i say we will get the same amount maybe less maybe more who knows but we usually always get abit of snow and the council better be ready this time
