MY COUNTRY WILLL NOT GO DOWN EVEN THESE KIND SITUATION I WILL FIGHT I WILL STAND UP AND EVEN DIED TO MAKE A CHANGE FOR MY NATION NO POLITICIAN FREEKEE SHIT
The original Arabs that came to Haiti around 1880 came without a dim in their pockets and over two, three generation came to be very wealthy.
Through sheer hard work, determination and skills they did work or work in places where the local elite refused to do.
Now, the descendants of that group control the economy of Haiti, along with the traditional mulatto elite. Starting in the 70's these two group have mixed via marriage.
thas why we are so backward!!!!!!!!!! always citicize ............ look a the results! we have nothing we produce nothing!!!!!!! alway begging for other coutries to bail you out!!!!!!! we need more speach in french!!!!!!! we are so good at it!!!!!!!!
@gimarworld 200 years ago when Haiti was 75% of France wealth and one of the richest country in the world we produced everything we consumed and export far exceeded import. Now, we export almost nothing (Rum Barbancourt is Haiti most famous export)
We need to find a solution. China could be an example, 30 years ago they started a transformation that has made them the second biggest economy in the world, a powerful army and a middle class the size of the US population.
@md991free i like your comments, but how is the whole thing. we are not United, to reboot the economy we need dedication but everybody thinking about themselves. I believe for the Capital what attract people in, is what will get them out but outside of the capital as of increase the touristic activities in the country sides to increase the economy.
@illus4u It is my hope and reach that with a new president taking over in May 14, 2011 the whole country will join together and work toward rebuilding Haiti.
Yes, you are correct, tourism is extremely important for Haiti. Haiti used to be #1 destination for tourists back in the late 70's and early 80's. Now is Jamaica, DR and Puerto Rico.
But if all Haitians unite and work together truly, Haiti can be a miracle country like Brazil, China and Chile.
@haitianhistory Viviane Boulous is Reginald Boulos sister or cousin I believe but not he's mother lol, and Reginald isn't a Seanteur he is President of Haiti's Chamber of Commerce.
Plenty of blames 2 go around in this mess. Mulattoes never embraced darker skinned Haitians as brothers and equals, identified w/ the white newcomers and collaborated with them 2 reinforce their illusion of superiority. The arabs act like leeches, never see themselves as Haitians even those of the 3rd or 4th generation. They rather pay bribes instead of taxes or utilities, use unfair practices 2 monopolize commerce. The elite blacks would sell their country 4 a few $ and a light-skinned female.
@petercann I totally agree. I use to live in Haiti for a short period and my family went from Fontamara to Petionvil and thats when i got to see the real Difference between the Mu;attoes and the dark skinned haitians.
Excuse me,I need the Part 2..

why some haitien in the u.s. deny their black origin, they hate to hear that they might come from afrika...they claim their french citizenship
666makiavel 1 year ago
@666makiavel 95% of Haitians are Black 5% are mixed, even a few white Haitian.
Most Haitians are very proud of their African root, but some, like the mulatto also have French blood, so I guess they are also proud of both origin.
