  • you should be a gymnast!

  • Rick this is both AWESOME and ISPIRING, keep it real!!!!

  • so do you work out and do this stuff for a living?

  • Yea i'm a trainer and athlete.

  • The good kind lol

  • do any parkour?

  • At the time of this video, no. Now, yes!

  • this is nice but not everyone has the genetics for it.

  • There are two types of athletes. Individuals with natural abilities and hard workers. Someone who works hard can always surpass someone with natural talents in time. Of course its best to have both lol, but I believe anything can be accomplish with hard work alone!

  • yes they do...

  • Damn! 1:19 Thats pure strength!

  • Thanks man. It was hard the first day of course, but as soon as I got it once, it became pretty easy.

  • Awesome power Rick. You really inspired me to train harder than I done it before :) You a very positive guy and always with a smile in the face. Much respect from me.

  • Thanks NGG! That means so much to me!

And thanks for being one of the first to register on our forums!

    Victoria

  • WOW! You are AWESOME! I wish you were in LA so I can train with you sometime and learn from you :) How did you get to be that good?

I also love the fact of you speaking from home and mentioning your family in the end credits!

    Much Love, Victoria

  • Thank you Victoria! I was in LA for a bodyweight training seminar at the Valley Crossfit and for this video contest also. I'll let u know next time I'm out west!

    I appreciate your words.

And u know how I got this good haha You're real skilled yourself!

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO..Your very skilled, 5/5...

Your doing all that and I'm still struggling with muscle ups on the bar..How long have you been doing this type of training and what's your diet like?

  • Started martial arts when i was five. Started flips when I was 16. Started training for Sasuke a year and a half ago. Started training with the Bar-barians last year.

I don't eat junk food. Only clean organic health foods.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Dude your AWESOME and have amazing muscle control!!! how did you get your fingers/hands so strong "like at 2:29"

  • Thanks!

By doing that and rock climbing.

  • Awesome vid man...no wonder you were one of the finalists...that rope catch was sick. And do I detect that you are fellow fan of White Goodman?

  • Thanks dude! It was surprisingly not too tough. Took me 3 tries to get the rope catch.

And good detection! haha j/k but seroiusly i've got em...

  • how do you train for human flag?

  • Thanks for answering. I've been living there on Greenwich Street for a few Months.

This was in 2004 - seems that my memory is in better condition, than my body :-)

    Chapeau! Really impressive fitness.

I'm a very good friend of Meckerschorsch from Germany.

  • Nice Video.

The Place where you do your First Human Flag - is it Manhattan? Close to Ground Zero?

  • Thanks. both flags Manhattan. both East Village.

  • you're cool and awesome.

I just made my own pull-up bar after seeing this. I hope i can do some exercises.

  • Glad ur inspired! My inspiration comes from comments like these! Have fun! Send me the vid once you start practicing some moves!

  • nice climbing skillz!

    Best regards

  • Awh man! This comment is way too much for me! Come on man im just doing my thing. haha

The voting is over but check out the ANC3 vid. The address is in the description box but there a space in the address (ke y) that shouldn't be there (key). Can't seem to fix it.

Let me know what u think of that one!

    Thanks,

    Rick

  • Thanks shadygator I appreciate it

  • If u're note a gymnast what are u??? lol

Nice vids man I'm 18 years old how can I try to be close to your level without additional weight?

  • Everything I am performing in this video has added muscle to my physique but I have remained the same weight. I would recommend rock climbing and bodyweight training to anyone. Just make sure your progressions are correct and safe.

    Thanks for the compliment!

    Rick

  • nice vid, i actually think i saw you on the episode, its a little blurry to me ,but i think it was you

  • Thanks. I made it to the finals but not to Japan

  • man ur awsome. i do some martial arts and acrobatics, i wish u could chek out my stuff too. thanks

  • Awesome vids. wildchildGil!

    great moves and great camera

  • yo man thanks for the comment! i still have a shitton of work to do b4 i can make it anywhere but may 18th is gonna be enough motivation for the rest of my life haha. keep up the good work mayne, you got mad skills. i tried doing some pistols on a bar like you do and i got em but they are pretty frickin hard to keep ur balance mayne haha nice job dude.

PS how did it feel to be on TV??? haha

  • Very good question.

Its not as it appears on TV. It looks like you and the camera but there are around 50 people behind the camera. Also something that was on TV for 3 seconds took 3 hours to film. It is important to be prepared for that because it was impossible to warm up correctly and conserve energy.

    Thanks,

    Rick

  • Hey man... Salute! You've invested quiet the dedication to your training and it's paying off obviously!!

I live around the TriState, can you tell me where that Gym is where you were doing the gymnastics? I've been looking for a place to seriously train but all the damn GYMS I know in my are are all for girlies...

Do they instruct Men in that gym? I believe gymnasts/acrobats are the strongest athletes in the world, always in control of their body and momentum.

  • Thanks very much!

The gym is Chelsea Piers. Yea they train males there haha. There are many high level gymnasts and Paul Hamm gave a seminar there a couple of times. I'm not a gymnast I go there to climb the rope and play.

  • Wow!!!!!!! You are great!!!!!!!!

  • Mate you are awesome !! Very impressive. What's the music that starts at 1:10 and again at 4:05 ? Cheers

  • holy hell!!! amazing tricks and strength; espically in the dynos

  • Thank you so much for sharing this video with us! It IS inspiring, and I think my son will enjoy it and be inspired too!!!!! You have amazing strength and I can tell that you've worked really hard to get there! Thank you! ^_^

    Clay

  • No problem. It is a great feeling to be inspired and to have a goal/dream to reach.

Justin, strong focus on what you want!

I've learned that even if you do not succeed, good things always come from trying or even dreaming.

  • Dude you rock! One of your other vid said you weren't a gymnast, are you a martial artist or a traceur or a guy that is just havin fun?

Any way, I realy enjoy watching your vids, they're pretty inspiring. Keep it up and stay groovy.

  • A guy that is just having fun! haha

I choose to be well rounded instead of mastering one thing. There are to many fun happenings in this world to pursuit just one sport!

  • you should be going to japan.you and ruselis, not the other two.there not as good.that one guy that beat you just got lucky

  • Thanks for your support, but I wouldn't say that. There's no luck in it. He was the better competitor that day. They both deserved to go and I couldn't be prouder for them.

  • It's just a shame your ankle got axed just as you were about to get ready. I wonder how far you could have gone if you had the opportunity to spend more time working your ass of for the challenge.

Otherwise, you and Russ were still the crowd favorite for your charisma and determination.

  • hey what song is that at the beginning of your video the beat was nice overall man very impressive just shows you what the human body is capable of.... keep doing your thing and stay positive peace

  • It two different songs from Garageband laced over each other.

  • awesome i hope you make it!!! and you did a lot of stuff that some of the Asian contestants couldn't do

  • yo, straight up, that is sick. If you make

it to Sasuke, you got to do better than the

other two americans from 19. all the way to stage 4, and to the top.

    10 **********

  • ur like a hyped up spider monkey!!! haha that was awesome did you make it on the show?

  • this guy is totally awsome

  • that was pretty sweet when u did that hundred metre dash in a handstand

  • It was only seventy metre but I'll get it to one hundred! haha

  • 3:31 is awesome

  • Yea that was tough. Real tough! Don't know if i'll do that again! haha

  • Those pistols were sick! Great balance..

How did you build up to doing them like that if you don't mind me asking?

  • Also, having finished watching the video, I have to say, great progress! :D

  • Progression.

Get em down well of flat ground. Then feel comfortable walking around on the bars. Then do one on a bar low to the ground. Then do ur gold! hehe

  • Use the burning pain and determination you felt and embrace it in all your training to step to a new level that will break all barriers.

    Dont give up

Let the pain life has thrown at you make you stronger.

  • Thank you Hunter! Those are some powerful words! Maybe you should be a writer or maybe a motivational speaker!

  • Oh who am I kidding? You ARE a raging tiger!

  • It's hard to imagine how you'll surpass how you did in this video.

But I seriously can't wait to see you burst out like a raging tiger next time!

  • Awesome vid! Nothing lacking there. No wonder they flew you to LA. We got to workout if I'm ever in Nuevo York, man.

  • Sure man! Anytime! I wanna learn the planche pushups from the planche master!

  • Rick this is one of your best videos ever. It's great to see that all of your hard work is paying off. Again and as always, you remain an inspiration to those of us at the bottom of the ladder. Keep it up!

  • Ur no where near the bottom of the ladder. You have a beautiful family and u teach your children your fitness as well. I have not reached this stage of my life yet and have no idea what that kind of success is like.

Thank you! Ur compliments always inspire me to continue improving!

  • Sick work mate, impressive human flag on that fence. Overall very impressive stuff her!
