i have a cocker and her name is tess she does the most strangest thing she smiels but we can never seem to get her on video. you have the most cutes dog in the world and talk about puppy eyes :O CUTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's good that you don't over feed them or under feed them and they always have plenty of water.

I don't brush Toby much as his fur is soft and lovely anyway but it is best if you do.

On walks, especially when they are older, they need to know their name or whistle. Toby wasn't listening and he ran out of the park and got hit by a car. He is ok now.

But once their heads are down and they are sniffing they can switch off as they are gun dogs :)

i got 6 month working cocker i got a 15m long lead its good for training in the park although it can be a pain if it gets tangled one of the best dogs you can get in my opinion

I take him for walks nearly every day and after school but don't worry if you miss out a day or two as it's not like they are Dalmatians or something :p They also love to be played with and have Lots of attention. Now, if you let them they will soon be a part of your family.. Not just a dog. :'D

Feeding a dog from the table not only spoils the dog but they will begin to beg.

Every roast dinner on a Sunday Toby gets some chicken and gravy in his bowl which is fine :)

I have a cocker spaniel and he is three now. His name is Toby :) Cocker Spaniels are very, very loyal dogs and very cute as you can see! & like any other dog, they do require basic training like his/her name, Sit, Stay.. I taught Toby all of this including Paw and lie down and im teaching him roll over :) Toby learnt those tricks quite quickly! You need to do it often so that your dog won't forget them lol. It's better to train them young.

Hiya, cocker spaniels are very intelligent dogs and learn very quickly. You need to make sure your training is consistant and I would recommend going to a training class. Stanley is now 3 years old and still just as adorable. They are companion dogs and will follow you around everywhere you go but as long as they get fed and walked daily, they will be your best friend!

@craftygiraffe73 Some cockers are intelligent just make sure you get them from a reputable breeder. it may cost alot more but its very much worth it. Firstly they breed for temperament and looks, not just looks as a common dog breeder would. This means that they arn't as scatty and hyperactive, also kennel club breeders tend to take better care of their dogs wellbeing. They are also bred to have less of the breed problems. for example ear infections, droopy eyes, dribbling issues, aggression ect

The tail is docked in the case of cocker spaniels so that it doesn't obstruct them when they're hunting. Cocker spaniels are gun dogs after all...

Hi Lauren, Stanley is a show cocker. Working cockers are a bit longer legged and a bit skinnier and the show cockers are stockier. Stanley will be 3 next month!

this is so funny! I have a 12 week old golden cocker, she was coming down the stairs when she was 8 weeks old, with a day or 2 of protest from the top of the stairs. But shes that clingy we just went and left her and she'd sooner risk her life coming down the stairs than be by herself! I adore her to bits!!!
