that big black plane on the lower floor in the middle when they walk in is a retired plane called the sr71 it was nicknamed the blackbird at one time it was the fastest plane in existence it took many many years of training to become qualified to fly it and it was actually so fast that it was dangerous to fly. it also is the same jet that had a replica in transformers two

heh, I am in england and we have army, navy and RAF cadets. I am in the Atc (air training corps) someone from the usa told me there wasn't anything like cadets across the pond. Gues she was wrong, this looks awesome XD (uniforms are way better in the usa)

@crunchyasparagus yeah, its awesome! and we do have cadet stuff here :) the cool thing about the civil air patrol that sets us apart from other cadet programs is that we aren't just a bunch of cadets- we do volunteer stuff like search and rescue and disaster relief missions. its pretty cool :)

@JKWarrior1415 well, in 9th grade, I contacted the squadron commander and said I was interested in the program. Then, I got some info on it and went to a couple meetings, then like a month later, I signed up and started advancing!

@legoscorchtrooper23 No, but we also went to the national air and space museum, and this summer we might be going to the air force museum. But there were A LOT of planes we saw that I couldn't show in a 10 minute vid. lol

@KNDoperative Awesome trip. Just something that I wanted to add about the SR-71, it actually leaks fuel on the ground because its outer shell was designed to expand due to the extreme heat conditions during flight. I think the outer skin could get to something like 700 degrees F. Actually every time it flew it would re-temper the skin so it was jokingly called the plan that could fly forever. Feel free to correct any of the details I got wrong.

@Gainind197 yep: the SR-71 blackbird. it was first designed to carry missiles but it flew faster than the missiles it fired, so they made it a recon plane. It was decommissioned after the cold war....sad face
