Meh ... good luck Privateer ... dump your money in the video game hole. Look how much massive success GW has had! Why can't you guys stop being such money grubbing bastards ... no wonder there has been a huge exodus of the original creative core of the company.
the warjacks are artifical constructs, so simulated breathing isn't that big of a deal. mechanically it could be some kind of bellows system moving the chassis up and down, or it could be some kind of spring based shock system. A walking/running/charging multi-ton bipedal machine will cause a lot of strain on the leg joints. Without some kind of force to keep the top weight from constantly pressing down on the joints, it won't last very long.
no no no .. everybody who plays warmachine knows that jacks are steam powered. how else would the fire in the boiler be flaming? the ''breathing'' must be from an internal belows mechanism
I think this is very cool. On the "breathing motions"...I justify it as hydraulic, pneumatic pressure equalization. Also, it has a cortwx which grants it semi or near autonomy, hence it fidgets, like you or I would do when forced to stand still. They are not completely inert machines.....just go ask the Deathjack...
Wow, people are way too stuck on the fact that there's a breathing motion on a 'jack. It's an idle animation, they're used to make cg models have character. static is boring. Breathing just happens to be a fairly common one for humanoid figures.
There's also supposed to be a steam engine inside this thing. Most machines tend to make some movements when they're running.
Hm...warjacks have to be magically controlled by a person (mage) though, right? There consciousness is kinda "inside" the machine a bit, isn't it? So maybe that's why it "fidgets" like a human?
You are completely right about this.... wow now I cant seem to stop looking at that.... I always though of them as standing still with smoke coming out and suddenly moving to eat your face off..... but I almost sure that can be changed, or explained somehow...

I'd prefer it to be alot more like Myth 2 than Fallout Tactics.
That said, Hell yes! This game totally needs various modes! There's just sooooo much potential here!
RTS, skirmish modes with Warjacks you command, 'Jack on 'Jack arena. Could go anywhere.

"Bla bla uh bla bla uh bla bla uh..."
I wish that guy would shut up or learn how to speak properly. All that uh is distracting and very annoying.

Look at its big hands and skinny upper arm.
Its clearly a Slayer.
From the angle it's hiding the tusks.
kylejj91 2 years ago
If you think that's a Slayer, you clearly haven't played very much Warmachine, or have very poor eyesight.

it could be the steam powered workings moving it slightly

Someone needs to invest in a light, this video is way to dark

The room was incredibly dim, unfortunately, and my camera is rather old. The lighting was as good as it could have been under the circumstances.

Take a look at the WarJack, it's doing "breathing motions" which is completely wrong. It's a machine, it would just stand there.
