@thehulkcoaster10 your one of the lucky ones haha. my mother and father had 2 moluccan cockatoos when i was a little kid i miss them so much im 13 and ive been fascinated with parrots ever since my two moluccans passed RIP PEACHES AND CONA :'(
I am thinking about getting a scarlet macaw, and what I want to know is, are they incredibly hard to tame, and, I am selling my other birds eventually, I have 2 american budgies, and 2 english budgies, and 1 cockatiel, so I might get a macaw after I sell my other birds
@blongissatrainer hey! i have a scarlet that i adopted from a shelter. he's an adult so it took him a while to get used to me. scarlets tend to be more bonding towards one person and if you spend enough time with him/her they'll be great companions. they're very vocal and are extremely loud, and they get nippy and bitey sometime. as for taming i don't think it's too difficult. you just really need a lot of time to spend with it.
@BryannaAkins560 Some cockatoos do that less but most birds I've seen are one person birds but, they aren't meen to other people just distant. Though some can be mean
@BryannaAkins560 well i have a scarlet macaw, she's really nice to my brother and myself (because we play with her a lot). And she is okay with my mom, my mom doesn't really play with her but talks to her a lot and she's the one who mainly takes care of her, but she HATES any one who comes into the house that doesn't live there. And i mean HATES, i would rather have her out during a robbery than a guard dog lol
@iplayfourdays I have a few birds and trust me, no one wants to come in my home without a family member with them. My birds don't like strangers. Having 4 macaws in one room, it gets quite loud when they are startled by a stranger. Had a new stove delivered a few months ago and they did not stop screaming till the men were gone!
awww how old was he/she then sooo cute

@minkin25 They are endangered in their native countries. You can buy them legally here in the US, no license, etc. needed.
