  • there's no way they could've found a better song for this scene...

  • Yeah, I'm a guy. I'm joining the Marines, I've played hockey for 13 years. I'm what you call "tough as nails". This made me cry.

  • Genuinly shed a tear near the end.

  • I was on the verge of tears about halfway through the episode and when this song came on, I couldn't hold it any more. (Even though this song has been played to death by many.) I'm watching the whole series on Netflix at about 3-4 episodes a day and this is the saddest i've seen yet. I'd say this even tops the *Spoilers* Ben's death episode.

  • Scrubs i a funny show, but it know's how to pull at your heart strings

  • I almost cried on this EP! And Im a dude! LOL

  • ive seen this tons of times and it still gives me chills

  • the part that made me ball was when dr.cox gets so upset and carla is like, she feels so bad for him she doesn't know what to do.

  • oh god this episode always makes me cry :(

  • Best Ending

  • 3:10 - 3:24.. intense.

  • i think the aftermath was the kicker for me, the line "after 20 years of being a doctor, losing a patient can still hit you this hard, thats the kind of doctor i want to be"

  • @BSchmidt959 yeah that was the really brilliant part for me too, i thought that it was the big reflective bit that really makes you think

  • This episode and "my fallen idol" are definitely the defining episodes of scrubs-- they are epic

  • This is the defining scene for this show for me as far as character development;. Dr. Cox showing emotion and J.D. returning the cold-hearted "just keep trudging" ideology. Love the show (before the writers strike)

  • Dr. Cox has a really hard life. this episode is so sad it's beautiful.

    that makes sense.

    yes it does.

    shut up.

  • best episode ever, just saw lols

  • one of my my favorite episodes in scrubs but the saddest at the same time

  • I wonder how many real doctors do this :((

  • Wow, this must be the saddest part of the whole Scrubs show.

  • my dads a paramedic and im not alowd to watch scrubs when he is in the room cause he starts you know

  • @F5WTFBOOM he starts wat?

  • song being played? :D

  • its funny how u started that serious comment with a "lol"

  • This is the saddest thing ever.

  • so was I D: it was hella emotional

  • Comment removed

  • great episode

  • One of my favourite-episodes in Scrubs' history.

John C. McGinley is, in my opinion, the best actor out there. He proves why in scenes like this.

  • The first time I saw this episode I sat in my den, home alone, and sobbed for about 3 hours.

I had never cried so hard in my life. D:

  • @iam1smartchick 3 hours....... wow that's pathetic

  • @scoutfreak1 dont be a dick bro people have feelings you know

  • @scoutfreak1 Ever heard of hyperboles? Apparently not...

  • Feel so bad, for Dr. Coxx atm. ;S

  • this part is the saddest part that i have ever seen in my whole life i still remember it....

  • ino this part i cried ;(

  • were can i c the full episode?

  • This song always makes me cry damnit!i thought scrubs was a comedy:(

  • @lachita36 its a dark comedy its really funny and sad

  • i wept like a baby when I saw this part on Scrubs

  • lol same, it gets me everytime.

  • The song is from The Fray how to save a life :)

  • I felt horrible when the guy who needed the kidney died.

He and Cox were like buddies. And I saw this episode today.

  • Watching a lot of JD and Cox's scenes makes me cry....the whole dynamic of J.D.'s quest for Cox's approval is one of the greatest ideas in sitcom history.

  • God I almost cried when I watched that. Poor Dr. Cox.

  • any1 have an idea what the name of the song&artist is in this clip? i really like it

  • 0:28

That chick looks like Denise from the latest season IMHO.

  • It really does!

  • Only thing this video doesn't show is that it's Dr Cox' friend who dies and he would have lived 2 months before he would die without the operation. Great episode and perfect song choice.

  • this was on channle 4 this morning. 1st time i have ever seen it and i nearly cried, they made a great choice of song for this

  • could anyone please tell me from which season this is?

  • season 5, episode 20

  • This is one of the most powerful moments from Scrubs. I like it.

  • its really moving wen u c a tear down dr cox's face at 3:12.

  • omfg this is like... my favorite serious part of Scrubs, i like... almost cryed at this

  • Best episode ever. Still makes me cry and gives me the chills.
