Which is why I prefer to buy mowers that date from 1946 up to 1990. Like I'd buy a pre-1986 Aircap/Mastercut (this company also made Sunbeam Lawn Champ electrics following Aircap's takeover of Sunbeam's outdoor power division).
I bought one of these earthwise mowers, it is great, 6000sqft lawn and have mowed my lawn twice with no recharge, the first time the grass was consistantly over 5 inches long LOTS of weeds and other veg, including a good number of 1/4inch twigs, and the second time it was more like 2.5-3 inches (typical 1 weeks growth) I cut my lawn to 2 inches
Cut through the thickest stuff with ease, and I DO NOT moe slow.
easily recommended to anyone with say 10,000sqft of lawn or less.
I can't comment of this model, but I'll tell you DO NOT buy a Homelite cordless mower. It is poorly designed, underpowered and overpriced. Mine died within 90 days so I exchanged it at Homedepot for a gas mower. Homelite knows the charger is killing batteries and refuses to address the problem.
@luvmyctd Yeah Ive used one. try Increasing the voltage on one it increases the power. Also I dont care wether global warming is a scam, it doesnt change the fact that the crap that comes out of the exhaust of an internal combustion engine is posion and pollutes the air we breathe.
yea right clean air, 1. putting load into the power plant put out pollutions 2. electric motor burns out 3.batteries in mowers leaks acids wheather it's sealed or not, cheaper to go with a gas mower.... i got a propane gas mower and it runs CLEANER than these electric mowers and less emissions, the only good thing about electric mowers is for tiny yard, like 4 strips then it's done, so i will pass the electric mowers....ELECTRIC MOWERS SUCK!!
electric mowers make all their pollution at the power plant instead of your yard, right? So what? Well, the power companies don't know which day of the week you mow your lawn/charge your battery. and really wouldn't care because they can't control output that precisely. all they care about is that they are making more power than you use. so, they just make pollution all week long to make sure they don't get a blackout. Which mean an electric mower makes 7 times as much pollution as a gas mower.
Well Petrol mowers are not only safer because you don't have a cord or any electronics on board that could become dangerous when mowing wet grass, but the petrol engine has far more torque than an electric motor and is why they go through tall grass effortlessly and electric motors struggle, plus with a petrol mower you have constant power until the petrol tank becomes empty and you have to fill it up again, where as with an cordless mower the motor will spin very slow then the battery is flat.
@macdonaldjohnstonfan Not so. It is electric that has torque figures well beyond a gas engine. The weak performance you see is because idiots treat electric stuff like science projects instead of using common sense. For example the people who build electric mowers use tiny motors and the batteries they use cannot provide high discharge current. So the motors are being starved of current and they are undersized which translates into poor performance.
I tried the Craftsman, Remington mover, Earthwise, Black & Decker and Homelite. The best one that cuts the strongest is the Remington, it has the most power, has a cord or cordless option, longer battery time than Neuton and is made in USA, not Taiwan. Second best is the Black & Decker, 3rd is Craftsman. I didn't like the Neuton at all but that it is not American made but made of cheap plastic and made in Taiwan.
very nice mower but the only bad thing is that it is made in china... i wouldn't mind using one though.

Have you even used one? Cordless mowers are plain junk at this point in time. Just not enough power ... period.
Hey, btw Al Gore and his criminal global warming pals are working on a cordless snowblower for all the snow in Texas too.

top on that..... electric mowers will burn out if mowing under a heavy loads or when the air flow is restricted from cooling the motor down
SpiritsoftheWolf 3 years ago
tell me about it, I have an electric just because i don't know why, but i can't even mow 4 inches of grass without having to go over it 3 times
atillathehun3 3 years ago
the electric motor do not have a lot of power, like the gas mowers having a lot of power, and mow over tall grass than electric mowers

When the battery gets flatter and flatter the motor will spin slower and slower and you won't get a fine finish.
