Yeah I know...that's why we're going to change our name. At the time we named ourselves, it seemed no one really knew about the late 70's post-punk bands (and so it would've been obscure enough), and then, within a matter of a couple of years, EVERYONE knew about Joy Division, and Interpol was shamelessly imitating them.

Names are tough though you just have to be kind of random i reckon,

You've got the bright/bittersweet tone perfectly -- even if a few notes differ here and there from the original. Don't sweat over those few notes. Making it too exact reduces it from a spirited improv to a carbon copy.

Hey, sorry--I picked it up by ear. I recommend listening to the live version of the song as it appears on "Live at the Venue" because it better allowed me to come up with my own interpretation.

I adore the Durutti Column - this song is the first track from the first album, and the first DC tune I ever heard, so I was wary of hearing it covered. But it's very good.
