Yo do really great demos and I see you also have (or might have previously owned) the marshall vintage modern combo. Im thinking about the vintage modern but was wondering if it would be too loud yo do small gigs. Ide really like to ue it to its full capactity since it is $1600. How does the clas 5 stack up against in your opinion. is it loud enough to gig with unmiced( assuming the volume was on 10?) Thank you so much for the demo and thank you for taking the time to read this.
@GuitarRock6 I think 5 watts is barely enough for a band with a drummer. If you mic'd it you would be fine. I would use a minimum of 15 watts with a drummer. Unless you have a PA system to mic in to.
I have a Les Paul Special (two P-90 pickups). How close will this amp get me to "Live at Leeds" on a budget? I'm not only talking about tone, but also about about the amazing dynamic sensitivity and responsiveness that the Hiwatt stack (and Pete) pulled off.
@Anitrop P-90's are awesome pick ups. But to get the tone you're looking for, a 5 watt amp with a 10" will not deliver at all. I would start at a 2 x 12 and 50 watts and go from there.
Ozzyt, I have watch at least 50 Class 5 videos and reviews over and over and your short videos are by far the best, you just make this amp sound incredible, punchy, tube like, Marshall like amp, Did you use any pedals in any of your 3 vidos? Marshall should pay you for this. I own one and now I know it is the right choice.
@guitarpassion1 Thank you for the kind words!! I will be uploading a new vid very soon within a week or so!! I did not use any pedals in any of the 3 vids, I simply went guitar to the amp. Here's another video of the Class 5 on my other channel using the Class 5 in conjunction with an overdrive pedal -----> /watch?v=yHkDsRRPrfA
@OZZYTS808 BTW. there is no link, or am I missing something, maybe I should go to your chanell, ...I will... also which Zep rif did you play at min 0.58 forward. And what kind of guitar were you using? Keep up the great jamin'
@guitarpassion1 put w w w (DOT) youtube (DOT) com then post the rest of it. The song a 58 was "good times bad times". The guitar was the Les Paul Studio.
do you think this amp would be good for a les paul junior with p 90s for a punk rock and do you get any buzzing when its cranked if you could help me out that would be great man
@pchopjones Yes, having those two together would be a great match. As for the buzzing,.... being the natural animal it is the P 90's will have their own buzz like many single coil style pickups and no I don't get any buzz from the amp unless I have my pedalboard plugged in.
@OZZYTS808 i think im gunna get this amp this video had me sold lol thanks for the help man and one last question do you think this amp is loud enough to record with an sm57
Go play one and then come back and make a comment worth reading you retared.....this thing has tone and tone to spare as you would know if you actually played one and not judged by Youtube's crappy compression...
I've just got a class five, are you using any effects, or is this just the amp, if so, do you have any tips for getting this kinda sound? is it just a case of turning the volume up?
its it true u can just play with your volume knob and get all kinda of tones, i have les paul custom black beauty and i get from led zepplin to gun n roses , to just about anything on it!! so this amp should do well!!!
@THESGROCKS yes, it will be close but not exact, with and older type guitar with lower output seems to maybe suit the tone better for GNR ant have a good overdrive pedal.
How much do one of these come by?
