I always wondered what was the reaction of people who bought those "glued monitor" presarios, just to realize, 1 or 2 years later, that it didn't had a 5 1/4 bay!!!
So, I guess it wasn't possible to install a "multimedia upgrade kit" (cd-rom + sound card) an upgrade very common at that time...
i think it's funny how in the computer class they say "megabyte, gigabyte, terabyte" when back then a terabyte was like unimaginable amount of text documents.
You can build your own machine and then you don't have to worry about all the silly bundled add-ons that are put into them. Then you can install the "good" software on them.
the presario comes loaded with the same crap that windows still has today, as I, have a Compaq Preasrio just bought new, last month, and it sucks balls! 1994 and now, hasnt changed a bit...
Well, I got to admit, I knew more about those machines than anyone back then and I was only 13/14!
The one seen on the commerical is a low-end model (obviously the built-in monitor was supposed to give it more value), which would have either a 486SX 25 or 33 MHz processor (which was low-end by those standards back then).
There were other versions of Presario back then, such as other desktops as well as mini-tower models.
Magic Johnson is a very familiar name I heard on the radio.

Yeah, those weren't very upgrade friendly, just like today's iMacs.
