Honestly, while this is a great game, I thought the review was fair. It's not the best shooter out there and it doesn't have the open world factor like fallout 3, and it could have used a bit more characterization but whatever flaws it has (and it has more than a few) it makes up for it in personality. Much likethe Stalker games, you can tell a lot of love and pride went into this. Don't be so quick to dismiss a low score or constructive criticism. I'm betting the next game will be even better.

If you look at both the bad and good things and put aside your personal feelings for the game and give honest, constructive critique, you will be doing the developer far more of a favor than if you totally ignore the negative aspects and give it nothing but glowing praise.
Is this game more fun on a normal or easy difficulty? I played the xbox version on hard mode for about 9 hours and all I could say about the game is "The frickin' hooker stole all of my money and now I'm going to starve for the entirety of the game."

Russian fag here. They made a miss translation at 1:45. The guy said "странный звук" pronounced 'strannyĭ zvuk' which means strange sound. The translation had is in the plural which is "странные звуки" pronounced 'strannye zvuki'. Nothing major, but with me finding a faulty translation with the only speech part they showed, makes me wonder how many bad translations are actually in this game. Nonetheless it looks badass and I plan on buying it with Christmas money.

6.9? Passible? What the fuck? this game doesn't deserve anything lower than an 8.5, it's just plain amazing! Just remember to turn off cross-heirs and keep it on the original Russian dialogue, that's the best way to play it.
Also if anyone wants to know about the book, then I would highly recommended, I can safely say it is my favourite book, but as a warning, it is a lot more slow paced then the game, don't go in expecting massive mutant shootouts ever 10 pages.
If you manage to pick it up for a low price and like games like these then go for it. This game is the most immersive and atmospheric game I've ever played. There's just nothing much to do after you finish the story line and the gameplay is a bit repetetive. Oh and the game is scary as shit some times. :P
so far my only complaint for this game is that only main talk is subtitled. So like he said you can't tell what people are saying in russian unless it's part of the main story. which sort of sucks. I WANNA KNOW WHAT THOSE LITTLE KIDS ARE TALKING ABOUT
Depends what you like, i think its fantastic, got a great storey and really good atmosphere. Play it late at night and let yourself get into the storey, i REALLY like it but on the other hand i dont like Gears Of War, if you get what i'm saying. hope this helps :s

Russian fag here. They made a miss translation at 1:45. The guy said "странный звук" pronounced 'strannyĭ zvuk' which means strange sound. The translation had is in the plural which is "странные звуки" pronounced 'strannye zvuki'. Nothing major, but with me finding a faulty translation with the only speech part they showed, makes me wonder how many bad translations are actually in this game. Nonetheless it looks badass and I plan on buying it with Christmas money.

Why does IGN use the Xbox to review every fucking game? Believe it or not some games are better suited for PC.
Anyway, playing this at 4 am with the lights off is so immersive. Especially with the Russian Audio Track.

6.9? Passible? What the fuck? this game doesn't deserve anything lower than an 8.5, it's just plain amazing! Just remember to turn off cross-heirs and keep it on the original Russian dialogue, that's the best way to play it.
Also if anyone wants to know about the book, then I would highly recommended, I can safely say it is my favourite book, but as a warning, it is a lot more slow paced then the game, don't go in expecting massive mutant shootouts ever 10 pages.

Lasting Appeal - 5/10
If you manage to pick it up for a low price and like games like these then go for it. This game is the most immersive and atmospheric game I've ever played. There's just nothing much to do after you finish the story line and the gameplay is a bit repetetive. Oh and the game is scary as shit some times. :P

so far my only complaint for this game is that only main talk is subtitled. So like he said you can't tell what people are saying in russian unless it's part of the main story. which sort of sucks. I WANNA KNOW WHAT THOSE LITTLE KIDS ARE TALKING ABOUT

Depends what you like, i think its fantastic, got a great storey and really good atmosphere. Play it late at night and let yourself get into the storey, i REALLY like it but on the other hand i dont like Gears Of War, if you get what i'm saying. hope this helps :s

@wammpers Assuming the GT 520m is the equivalent of atleast an 8800 GT (minimum) you should be able to play it at low settings, or medium at very low resolutions.
