great stuff this one was getting on my nerves :) love the neat quick exit on this . ok, here is how i quickly memorized that list-- (radio ) (pitcher) to the (gnome) and then (pitcher) (block) the (gnome) with a (cola bottle) . worked for me and its called the loci method of mnemonics:) old system of memory, works like charm:)

When i did this quest... I did evry thing "Betty" told me to... When i were at the last objective (kill evry one who lives there) i got bored and thought that i sould explore the abonded house... Then i tried to loot the garden gnome... and then i found this way. I BROKE THE MARRAGE OF A COUPLE AND MADE A ROBOT KILL A WOMAN JUST TO FIND A SHORTCUT!!! Thats just indignyfiing... It was fun though.

@sebplopper if you find smith casey's garage then pull the electric switch, then you'l get after a little time you wil see a tunnel, and a vault door use the pannel and it wil open. as soon as you are in you wil get a vault 112 suit. wear that, go sit in one of the simulation-chairs. then you wil gete something boring (a white light) and your in it!

i just did trial and error with the fail safe code on my first playthrough, i didn't want to do betty's dirty work and risk my karma level of very good, so i went into every house and searched them all, then when i went into the abandoned house, curiosity took over and i found the fail safe.

I figured out the failsafe quite quickly it's fairly blunt with how when i tried all of them only one didn't have the following BLUHHH noise... So i found the order with trial and error and viola got the chinese to attack!

actualy..... there is another way.... and it works.... go into that house with nothing but 4 specific items....hit them in an order........then BAM.....a big data base computer appears......look at it all.....then go back and see betty......and watch the ending of that seqence happen =D.....

There is a way to get the outfit (not hat) That the chinese have. Go to Rivit city and go to the market place. Talk to the clothing store and buy. "Dirty Chinese jumpsuit." It matches well with the combat helment and the chinese assult rifle.

Trial and error first then realised at the end its the same tune as the whistle. If you try using them in the wrong order you hear a sound indicating you messed up, but it is quite subtle so not everyone hears it.

Took me about 7 mins to crack the code after some tinkering and 10 trial and error attempts.

Anytime I hit the wrong thing in the combination I just redid what I knew at the time and then tapped one of the other objects at the point where it failed on my last attempt. Only someone who is brain dead cannot figure it out eventually.

There is some dialogue in Tranquility Lane where you can ask Braun if it is possible to free the people and he tells you: No because they have been in this thing for 200 years and their bodies are not able to cope with real life anymore. Now some people are not aware of the fact that the game takes place in 2270 - 200 years after the war. Check the Fallout 3 user manual or wikipedia, wikia or any other source. That is why killing them gets you good karma.
