I know this is an old video, but I want to comment :D

I have Charter too, I hate it! Phone sucks, internet sucks, and I cant even figure out HOW to turn on CC on this stupid television. People on the phone INSISTED there was a CC button, but I am not blind, I dont see a CC button. They said, maybe my remote is old?

Bleh. Everyone is a hassle with these people!

Aw man.. been there done that so I totally know how you feel. Did you tell them that you want a tech coming to your home anyway? That's what I did and that was the only way to prove them wrong.

It sucks I know when we really need to prove 'em wrong.. badly. Remote is old? LOL.. that is just stupid. They'd come up with many stupid things.

I finally got closed captioning to work on my Charter HD Dvr. I had to unplug my tv from the outlet built into the Cable box and plugged it into the wall so that when I accessed the Menu for the cable box, I could see the on-screen menu.

I love CC. I am adding it to my foreign language videos in two languages. It's a good idea on every video. Everyone benefits -- hearing impaired, non-hearing impaired, foreign students learning to read another language, etc. I wish every video and TV channel had CC!

I think it is because FOX lacks Digital 1 caption. They have CC1 for digital tv.

another thing if you had an hd box it actually has a setting for cc in it,you could have easily fixed this by putting cc on your tv and turn that setting on. Just a tip.

Please watch first video called Closed Caption Is Missing if you haven't seen it. And I do not use HD so not sure where HD comes from? The issue has been confirmed that Charter has reception issue between Fox and Charter.

And other fact is that all TVs do not have CC either on Fox only so which is why it is reception issue. In fact, yesterday I checked TV in the clubhouse and still no CC availableon Fox channel.

I dont know if you got rid of charter but most likely the reason why cc wasnt working is either fox at that time wasn't broadcasting in cc which happens because if its not showing cc on a channel it could be because that channel/broadcasting company do not broadcast in cc

Ha.. yeah I use EyeTV that records TV shows. EyeTV does have CC feature to turn on which is very cool one. It's for mac only, though.

If you are not happy with your cable then switch to DirecTV. I am happy with DirecTV. I checked with Fox and it has cc. Oh well think about it. LOL

I've had both and I prefer satellite. Only probelm I had with that was kids playing with the dish when I lived in Apartments, so just watch out for the brats and you sould be fine.

But at the moment I'm living with my parents and they "refuse to pay for tv" and I'm trying to pay some things off, go to school, etc so I can't afford it (tear)

I have no problem with FOX while cc is on. I do satsify with it. Kick Charter out!

One thing I did was to call my provider and tell them I would not pay my bill until they provided the service I could use. I explained CC and told them I would not pay until I could understand the TV. They came out the next day.

Wow! I am glad that Charter is not available here in my area of Washington state!

No matter what, no matter where I move, I will NEVER subscribe to Charter. Wow, that is VERY BAD!
