This is got to be either the most famous or very famous luxury liner in the world. Just to be there and see the ship was a fantastic sight. For those who have traveled the world in QM2 much appreciated.
I was like 100 to 200 yards down from you. got a couple really good pics with my camera phone. I love how it being so huge, it was able to slip underneath the bridge, lol
I was lucky enough to see her in Southampton about three months ago when I had to get a ferry to the Isle of Wight - it really is something special, would love to have witnessed her pass under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Fantastic shots of her coming under the bridge.I lucky to spend 2 nights on her on the shake down trip from Southampton in January 2005 and will never forget it.
It's a traditional salute from ship to ship. They used to do this in New York harbor, for example, in the 30's to salute newcomers. The original Queen Mary was honored in this fashion on her maiden arrival in NYC, fireboats did the honor.
Super cool, i saw the queen mary 2 in CHILE (south america) in the port of Valparaiso,i was on vacation over there and she stayed for two days over there, it is a huge ship!!! This was on January 26th 2007
