  • hmm can anyone tell me who won that match again?

  • Mike Ross and Cian Healy get dominated.......then what happened hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • the same people dominated the england pack so stop slabberin

  • @jinksy2468 And what happened in august? England humiliated Ireland in Dublin, in the scrums and on the try/score count

  • @motion2005 That was a meaningless warm up match. Ireland hammered England last time they played each other in a proper match. They came to Dublin looking for the grand slam and went home in no doubt they're inferior to Ireland in every facet of the game. Now THAT was humiliation.

  • @motion2005 It was a warm up match... Did you look at the Irish lineup? Earls (who would not be 13 for big matches because he can't defend) let Tuilagi run right by him gifted him the try. Also, for Armitage's try there was blatant interference on Paddy Wallace a metre or two in front of the referee but he let it go, so Armitage could just run in. 20 points against a terrible Irish team, 7 of them gifted by Earls, 7 gifted by the referee. I wouldn't take too much pride in that win, buddy...

  • Dominating? The only reason Northampton were so strong at scrum time in the first half is because Tongauiha was binding illegally and stopping Leinster from driving straight. Watch the second half were he's stopped from doing it and Leinster have a comfortable scrum. Clever stuff from Northampton really, but they should've known they couldn't keep it up.

  • @vegatablesouptom Hartley was popping up every scrum, trying to push the Leinster front row up. It worked, but it is a penalty offense and the referee never penalised it. It wasn't a matter of Leinster not being able to handle the shove. Also, they were doing well at the very end of the second half. I don't see how after the ten minute break they'd run out of steam. Seems like a weak, illogical excuse. Leinster just made some adjustments to deal w/ the illegal scrummaging and the results showed.

  • @astmulti He wasn't pushing up...it's obvious from looking at this that Leinster A - can't handle the shove and B - hartley breaks the bind of strauss to ross (which is just good scrummaging) so strauss releases his grip putting all the force on Ross's arm, ross's inside shoulder therefore being pulled in and up allowing tonguiha to get into his side and driving him back, once it starts going back that's it.

  • @vegatablesouptom Watch closer buddy. There's a reason Leinster destroyed them in the 2nd half.

  • @astmulti The reason as I have already explained is because Northampton ran themselves ragged in the first half, and as for what you said before...have you ever played at 100% intensity for a full 40 minutes and then had a 10 minute break? Because I know from experience you can't carry on at that pace, just read martin johnsons biography about one of his first games against Nz...

  • @vegatablesouptom I have, and I'm not a professional or nearly as fit as them. As I already explained, that's a weak illogical excuse. Better luck next year, my friend. Northampton are one of my favourite Premiership teams so I hope to see them to well. I don't think you'd find many Irishmen willing to read Johnson's autobiography by the way.

  • @astmulti It's not a weak illogical excuse, it makes perfect sense. Anyway our debating aside I do like leinster, and it's no surprise they turned it round in the second half, they showed at points in the first half they could cut Northampton open it was just they lacked the finishing touches...

  • @astmulti it's also worth considering that leinster had the weekend before this game off, whereas northampton had an away semi-final against leicester. It's understandable that they were exhausted.

  • @somerandomer No. Leinster played Ulster the weekend the same weekend Northampton were playing Leicester. The match was one of the most physical of the season. I was there. How about you check these things before you say them.

  • @astmulti okay so I misremembered. there's no need to get so arsey about it. i'm not actually a northampton fan so i'm not being bitter. Just a factual error.

  • @somerandomer Get your facts right before you write them. Pretty easy to do.

  • Best scrum of the match, shame Northampton's scrum got beaten off the pitch in the second half.

  • @Raichu234 - agreed. Even as a Bath fan I like to see Quins do well - like their style of play.

Quite why England didn't take players like Robshaw to the World Cup I have no idea..

  • where all the videos of the second half scrums?? where in every single one was completely dominated by thoses 2!yea buddy

  • Saints have the best scrum in the premiership, then probably Leicester.

  • @mrcalarsenal saints cheat at the scrum they lift the opposition front row up at one side as you can see in this video. the leinster scrum coach figured this out at half time. then mike ross and cian healy adjusted by keeping northamton's front row from lifting them up then leinster hammered northamton in the second half in the scrum so no they don't have the best scrum but they do have probably the best cheating in the NH.

  • @bolgert911 That's bull do you know anything about scrummaging?! The front row are going up because they can't handle the shove, classic response to being pushed back, there are 3 ways you can go, straight back, slip the bind and go down or hold the bind and go up to stop the scrum going backwards. The reason Northampton struggled in the second half is because of how much they put into the first half...

  • @mrcalarsenal Quins are getting good! We are top!

  • @GuerillaGanja Best team won and a fantastic second period by you guys BUT Saints were knackered in the 2nd! You guys played an average of SIX games less per player, at that level, that's a massive physical impact! Saints can do tons more than scrummage BUT as I said, Leinster nailed them in the 2nd, good luck for 2011-2012!!

  • jealousy is a bitch, get over your self . leinster figured out northhampton's scum, pretty dam easy and hammered them in the second half.

no point having a good scrum when you get hammered 27 to 0 in the second half.

  • @cuplafucall Not jealous, but HATED the 2nd, you guys were the better and have no problem with that, and took your chances better! As they say, the score is on the board!!

  • @cuplafucall well if they'd prepared properly they'd have figured the northampton scrum out 'pretty dam easy' before the match. no point having a good scrum when you get hammered 22 to 6 in the first half.if it was so easy to figure out leinster wouldn't have been hammered by a 7man scrum...

  • @saints20001 that's not the contenting issue. To brag about a scrum that didn't make any difference to the match is a bit silly really. Its like boxer who lost his world title and got knock out badly, saying well at least i one the first round.

know one cares if he one the first round.

  • @cuplafucall well leinster hammering northampton in the second half isnt the contenting issue either - but true this scrum had no impacton the game
