Its sad because thousands of people swim in shark infested waters every day yet only 5 people die a year from shark attacks and thats mainly from blood loss from a bite, even though they prey on slow moving, sick seals that swim at the surface and splash (looks EXACTLY like a human swimming) . Over 100 people die from elephant and tiger attacks and almost NOBODY runs around them in close proximity in the wild? Yet, people are STILL terrified of sharks. Do the statistics, sharks are not a threat.

@clplunt i think its probably the phobia of not knowing that its there. and that people give them a bad reputation. im going to be totally honest im scared shitless by sharks because i have a phobia of not knowing what is around me. i see your point.

@clplunt Isn't it normal to be afraid of sharks though? Look at their teeth for god sake. Not many people know as much about them as you do, I know heaps about them, but I would still be scared. I agree with you a little, but trust me, Tigers are endangered as well as elephants so I doubt there are more people killed from tigers and elephants than sharks.
