both are great bikes and i'm pretty sure you'll be happy with either one. the ktm does come with upgrades already built into it, but you can buy those for a little cheaper if you go yamaha.
my cousin had 3 125 2 stroke's, he began on a Kawasaki kx 125 from 97, after that he bought a Yamaha yz 125 from 2001 and said he really felt the difference in quality, he said yamaha was much better, but when he bought a KTM from 2007 he was amazed, he said it was the best quality 125 2 stroke there is, after that he bought a KTM 250 4 stroke from 2008 but now he has a Yamaha yzf 450 from 2009 :)
well you have to remember that there is a big difference between the 2001 yz 125 and the 2007. the only way to really compare bikes is to compare the same years, because there is a huge difference between bikes like my 1999 yamaha wr400 and the 2009 yamaha wr450. but still, they are all great bikes and i would take any one of them.
in 2 stroke Honda and Yamaha aren't that good as KTM but in 4 strokes Honda is much better than both, well thats for my feeling, AND.... i saw it on motors TV xD

we got a ticket for riding on "private property" or something like a year or 2 ago. it was a huge desert, kinda like el mirage. it's in the backside of hesperia. funny thing is the cops were on dirt bikes just like us, and all of ours were street legal, just like theirs. i asked them, "if we're not allowed here then what are you doing here?" all he could say was, "well, we're here." that makes me so mad.

yeah i followed my uncle to the place. we go every year, but because we wanted to take both bikes this year i had to drive lol. but yeah that's one of the places where you can really test out your bike, truck, rail, whatever it is you have. it put mine to the test.
ooooh just got back from dumont. me and my brother took our wr400s, and it was NICE. no paddle tires or anything, ahhhh that was fun. stayed from friday morning to tuesday at around 3:00. pm. sand dunes really do seem easier than unpredictable sand with rocks and patches of dirt, because dunes are more consistant. i... had... FUN...
i like sand, when it's in the form of sand dunes. then it is smooth and a little easier to maneuver in. when it's just very loose dirt, like this video, i hate it, especially on a heavy bike.
this is just where everybody parks their cars and everything. the place itself isn't big but there are a lot of trails that lead from the area. and yes, it was pretty sandy the that day but it really depends on what time of year, if it rained lately, etc. also they do have hills. the place is in the mountains in te first place lol. the song is crazy train by ozzy osbourn, i cut it to make room for the video.
yeah it's a REALLY nice bike. sadly it's not mine, it's my uncle's and he was letting me use it so my brother could ride my bike for the first time. it's weird but i personally think my 400 has more power than his 530. the KTM is light as a feather though and you can whip it through any turn.

For me ktm is the best of the best in everything, they have superior quality materials + they have tons of ultra high quality powerparts, style...
Kawasaki i respect them, because they are the ones who first used the CDI and some other technologies, and their bikes are pretty bad ass...
On yamaha to say the tryth the unique bike they have which i like is the WR 125X and the XT125X...
I wonder why all the other WR *** x (like wr 400 x) sucks, they get out of the original style...
