  • Wow!

  • kind of amazing a 2 person band can pull all that off

  • Bravo.

  • there great live

  • Scott is a good voice and a great ear for music.

  • If you like local h try this band caled Another drowning day

  • I love local H and the cover was great. But nowhere near the energy of Nirvana in this performance. Nirvana was great because Kurt went all out. It felt like Scott was holding back. Maybe it was the crowd or something but he didn't seem too into it.

  • @DeadJ0ker27 lol no one has the energy kurt had, the man was a freak!!!!!! (i mean that in a good way)

  • TURN THE MIC UP!

  • wow these guys earned my respect

  • Best damn cover i've ever heard!

  • This is a friggin awesome cover!

  • I love the balls shown by covering this song. Local H was called a Nirvana clone (maybe in look, but their sound was very much different). Most bands in that situation would have distanced themselves from said band, but these guys decided "screw that, let's play a song from Nirvana, and kick ass while doing it. F*** what people think."

  • fake? my ol'man plays, theres NOTHING fake here. just shut the fk up & DANCE MAN! GET FKN WILD!!!! if u cant bust loose to this song ur fkn either fkn OLD OR DEAD. and im sure old qualifies!

  • my god that sounds just like Cobain at Reading in 92

  • That's the closest I've ever heard ANY singer come to imitating Kurt Cobain's voice.

    The drummer did great also.

    That was very impressive.

  • good cover! i love both bands

  • FUCKING SWEEEETT!!!1!

  • they still play??i'd love to bring em to Puerto Rico to play my birthday marty

  • sick! love it

  • this is way better than puddle of mudd.

  • best breed cover i ever heard

  • Too much fucking loud.

  • One of my favorite bands playing one of my other favorite bands. cool shit.

  • i second that.

  • i think this is a cool cover or whaterver you call it, it actually doesn't suck that much.(he really can't scream)

  • I love how that every halloween night, they go the same club they had their first gig and pretend to be another band. They've been Nirvana, Oasis, Tom Petty, hell I think even the Wallflowers lol. That's pretty awesome

Good cover. Puddle of Mudd also did a kick ass cover of breed at a concert I went to, even though their new shit sucks hard for the most part.

  • well they believe it because its true. you can hear the bass in it when it gets to the "solo" part.

  • if you cant tell he isnt playing the bass part then you must not be paying attention. bass pickups dont make the pitch of a note lower, and he doesnt have bass pickups in his guitar.

  • "bass pickups dont make the pitch of a note lower..."

No, that's what his octave pedal is for. Everyone knows this... he's been using it forever. Hate to break it to you but you're not the keeper of some secret knowledge.

"and he doesnt have bass pickups in his guitar."

Well, that depends on which guitar you're talking about... some of his new ones don't have a bass pickup but his older ones have half a split-coil p-bass pickup in them (there's tons of pictures of them online).

  • @wilrecar77 You can get an octave pedal, dude. The bass pickup is there to pick up the low end of the lowest string, not to make it an octave lower...

And as for the bass pickup in the guitar, what the hell is that at 2:36 inbetween his bridge pickup and the bridge? A harmonica?

    Don't be stupid...

  • the funny thing is that it is true. And your to ignorant to realize it.

  • Do you know how bass and guitar pickups work? The pickups don't determine the pitch of the notes that are played. The pickups just act as a transducer for strings that turns the mechanical vibration into an electronic signal. Saying that him having bass pickups in his guitar would allow him to play the bass line is quite ignorant.

  • you're a fucking idiot there are two lines running out of the guitar one for the bass pickup one for the guitar pickup each to their respectable amps.. The bass line runs through and octave pedal (Boss OC-2) to Ya know... MAKE IT SOUND LIKE A BASS. Trust me i've seen them like 10 times and have made a guitar doing the same thing.

  • ever thought that there might be someone playing bass that you can't see on stage and that he might be running a stereo rig for a different reason? tbh most of the time power chords for a bass line sounds like shit and i doubt he would be running a stereo rig just for the song to have a bass line that is octave down power chords instead of a single note type thing. i do know what you are saying though, i have seen it too.

  • I don't see why they'd hide a bassist when they bring out third members to "cheat" all the time, like Gabe does.

  • @wilrecar77 um idk how much homework you've done on this band but the fact that Scott uses bass pickups is one of their claims to fame so the fact that you don't believe it is ironic

  • this is a little too old to keep arguing, but whatever. the falconplyr16 had it right. what everone else was arguing was that if he put a bass pickup in his guitar (like from a P bass or something), suddenly his lines would be an octave down. it doesnt work that way.

  • @wilrecar77 actually, it's bass pickups in the guitar linked to another whole output, into an octave pedal, into a bass amp. It works magnificently.

  • @wilrecar77 He did have a bass pickup in his guitars, ya tard. He first did it to his Fender Telecaster. I've got a Strat with a bass pickup in it. It is wired to a stereo jack with my guitar pickups, then split to two mono jacks before each mono signal going into their respective effects and amps. It's not rocket science, and it's been done for years.

  • @wilrecar77 It's definitely true. He definitely uses bass pickups. You can see it on his guitar even.

  • listen to rock n roll professionals by them. the man can scream.

  • @Rymylys he was pushing 40 around here. most people suck at screaming past 30

  • @Rymylys listen to "High Fiving MF" by Local H, then... go on

  • this is so cool!!! a bass pickup on a guitar??? that is so fucking cool!

  • another good song

  • Local H, never got the attention they deserve. They are a sick bad that only those who look for will find.

  • sick!

  • NICE hahaha.

  • Freakin Local H. Wonderful Wonderul band.

  • FUCK!!!

  • Local H roxors!

  • Joe left for nine years and wanted back in but Scott is like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

  • You are all wrong Joe would not travel around in a van playing at pubs and shit holes. Besides back into what Local H is so over you losers just don't see it. By the way for your information Joe formed Local H along with Scott as equal partners and Scott is the one that Screwed Joe over. If you ask me Joe should kick Scott's ass the prick. All of you little Scott lovers need to get the true story Scott is a liar!

  • no one can sound like Kurt you have to accept that but for a cover

    they are the best

  • I've seen nirvana do worst on this song lol... And Nirvana is my Fav band... Good cover

  • sick they almost sound the same

  • This is pretty good but Im not gonna lie, it scares the shit outta me when I see the words "Nirvana Cover"

  • This is a good cover, for some odd reason the drummer bugs me. I liked the other guy. Otep did a cover of this song too, it's good too. I like this cover, originals are always the best though.

  • What happened to the black drummer?

  • local h is fucking sick. i love 90s shitt

  • he's playing it wrong

  • He's the bassist and the guitarist at the same time. He's not playing it wrong as much as he's improvising.

  • amazing. im seeing them in concert soon!

  • do u know if they will be playing in el pasotx

  • Nice.

  • shit whos that drummer?

  • Brian St. Claire

  • The only band other then seether to pull off nirvana covers. I love this band ! Ham fisted was the shit!

  • Don't ever, EVER... Mention Nirvana & Seether in the same breath, same sentence, same comment, etc etc...

That's a fucking disgrace man, seriously.

  • you just mentioned them in the same comment.

  • See The old Local H is what people respect!

  • Oh my god this is fucking incredible, I just saw them a couple weeks ago and they are an amazing band

  • pretty fucking solid cover...i also love how he heckles the crowd

  • I agree, it sound pretty damn good. And I am impressed at how good they sound live.

  • Why's everyone arguing about which band is better? This is a great cover, enjoy it for what it is!

  • These guys are good but no way are they better then Nirvana.

  • Im not saying that they do Nirvana songs better than Nirvana but I am saying that Local H is a better band than Nirvana.

  • Fuck you, dip-shit.

  • That's the truth.

  • agreed

  • I just love "Breed" drumming. Freaking awesome.

  • actually you will find tofuleg because only a choad bag looks up bands he dosn't like.

  • I'd heard people talk about them- so this is my first time checking them out.

  • then why would you sart with a video of them doing a cover?

  • i love Local H dude dont get me wrong, they're a great band with tons of good songs that I like. but its, and always will be Nirvana above all

  • wait here just a second. i wouldnt say the nirvana covers of the Meat Puppets were t if better, they we're just Nirvana. Kurt made them great Nirvana songs but if you listen to the Meat Puppets second recond" Meat Puppets II", you;d hear that they're versions are maybe just as good in there sort of way. and if you hear the alternate version of Lake of Fire off Meat Puppets ealry 1994 release "too high too die", that song kicks fucking ass man. AND FUCK PEARL JAM!!!

  • imo though, oteps cover is better

  • dude thats just because oteps recorded in a studio, with all the magic that ensues there

  • not bad...

  • I was at this show. It was amazing! It was an all request show and was awesome!

  • Scott's a badass. Seether blows. You people piss me off!

  • Sooooo Seether Does covers of Nirvana too.... Does that make them a cover band? i mean hell nirvana did covers too...

  • yeah but atleast nirvana did good covers.

don't get me wrong, this is an okay cover

but covers are silly, because you can't be better than the original.

  • you are wrong, have you heard local h's toxic? or cake's i will survive? those are damn better than the original

  • guns n roses live and let die cover, better than paul mcartney original

nirvana- every meat puppets cover they did better that the originals, hell white lace and strange was done better by nirvana than shocking blue

alien ant farm covering smooth criminal, better than michael jackson

smashing pumpkins cover of the stevie nicks song landslide, better

pearl jam's cover of last kiss

fountains of wayne's cover of hit me baby one more time better

    I could go on

  • Matters not, everyone remembers the original

And No, Guns And Roses will never be Better than Sir Paul McCartney. It is litterally impossible

  • Lucas and St Claire kick ass

  • you blow

  • Wow, thank you. That was very insightful

  • the drummer looks kinda pale!?...what happened to him?

  • The old drummer, Joe, left the group after Pack Up the cats.

  • Lmfao

  • nice looock my cover

  • Best Nirvana cover ever...

  • I just look 2 "peaces" of man...? wow

  • They did rather awesome with this song...

  • Wow, deadly cover. Kurt would be damn proud.

  • kinda sounds like cobain too

  • really pleasant

  • Nirvana...excellent.

  • i was at this concert man!

  • i couldnt have thought of a better band 2 cover this song

  • who says a cover has to be note for note?

  • i thought that bre-oh that song is in breed i think oh ok

    they are good

  • Haha, a cover band? People are stupid. Local H rocks and just played this cause someone requested it. Let's see you play a bass line and guitar at the same time.

  • They totally pulled this song off. Breed is one of my all time favorites. No, it wasn't lick for lick but come on, it was a random deal and they covered it with total homage... as it well should be. Pick your battles.

  • He doesn't exactly play a bass line and the guitar at the same time he just has a bass pickup for the top 3 strings routed to a bass amp as well as your typical single coil pickups going to a couple 4x12's

  • he plays the song right on guitar, but he doesn't follow Kurts lyrical melody to the song throughout. He adds subtle changes here and there

  • You're treating them like a little band that put their covers up on youtube. they are a fully famous band. Look em up.

  • cover band? if you knew anything about 90's rock you would have heard of LOCAL H

  • Wow, you think Local H is a cover band? Dude, they've been there, done that. They are a legit band with hit singles. Look 'em up, moron. Scott is a just a fan of Nirvana and occasionally will do a Nirvana cover.

  • lol jaysonmanz a tard

  • Dumbass, he's playing the standard guitar AND the bass at the same time! And they're not a cover band either.

  • how does he play both, i know he does, but how, does he have a pedal that does a bass sound for the root of each note, or ...

  • He has a bass pickup in his guitar that runs through a separate guitar cable, into an octave pedal, and then into a bass amp. It's an interesting concept.

  • dude you are a moron

  • You are a dumb shit. There is no bassist, scott has bass pickups in his guitar. It would sound even more like shit if he did what you are trying to say.

  • he dosnt play the guitar wrong in the verses if he did play it there wud be no bass and hes playing the bass in the verses theres only one guitarist and a drummer. Great cover

  • i don´t want to be hit by the drummer....

  • He plays the verse wrong on guitar but it was a pretty good cover. I haven't listened to nirvana in years but this right here is old school 90s rock.

  • it is quite clear that kurt's voice is what made nirvana. no nirvana cover will ever come close to kurt's original.

  • That drummer rocks!

  • pretty good!

  • A dream has come true!

  • h's nirvana covers are always great. but to see someone playing cobain songs on a les-paul-type-axe makes me sick.

  • To see such a lovely person as yourself use such a masculane term such as "axe" which is commonly used to describe metal/nu-metal guitars to insult local H, makes me sick.

  • You're a such a fuckin' scenester... Wow...

  • haha i agree

  • lovely cover :)

i like the drummer's style. hits the drums hard like mr. grohl.

  • Or hit the drums hard like John Bonham, the original beast on the drums.

  • Or he hits like Carmen Appice, who beat the hell out of the drums before John Bonham.

  • good singing and drumming keep going

  • I saw Local H at summerfeast in Wisonsin last year, and they kicked ass, one of my favorite bands of all time. They do some great nirvana covers.

  • LOcal h is the fuckin sickest band the 90s need to come back

  • OH SHIT! ITS THE VIDEO!

  • Nice work, dont care about minor bullshit flaws i see people bitchen about on the guitar, singing was good, and the drummer kicked major fuckin ass.

  • i am impressed to see that he can do the baseline as well however it aint hard its basicaly the same as the first verse :_)

  • whatever happened to Joe?

  • hes been out since like, '98.

  • he forgets the lyrics in the 2nd verse, but i always suspected local H were big fans. cool to see they cover the "less known about" Nirvana songs. they do chicago proud :)

  • Not bad, but the guitars sound is not the same as kurts. Still good though

  • Because there are only two guys in the band. If you notice, when hes doing the solo part, he still has the bassline going because his guitar plays both. And who wants a cover that sounds the exact same as the original anyways? Covers gotta be unique.

  • Good cover. i love that song

  • Good cover. I loved that song.
