Barbara's best work thus far...and she's done so VERY many WONDERFUL projects......but this one...oh this one.....I haven't words for the beauty contained in this movie and MARVELOUS soundtrack.....indescribable wonder.....

When I was growing up in the 70's I would watch this every time it came on TV --- BUT they ALWAYS interrupted the closing song with some late news promo --- it used to make me FURIOUS----- it's the climax of the whole movie!!!
Just seeing the opening montage/song of the film reminds me how special it is.....though it is slightly flawed it has a really powerful punch, both in its tragic love/anti-love story between the 2 main characters, and also between the two idealologies they represent,and which were once present in the rise of America-- The way WE were.
she should of went for a ugly guy and it would of spared her the heartache

always makes me cry.....my favorite movie ever. really touched a nerve in me from the second I watched it when I was 14 back in 73.
Barbra's best ever performance. Yes even better than Funny Girl.
